Substancer version comes with fm 2.0 kernel. If you want you can try other kernel eg abyss, franco just flash the zip file from recovery
I suggest you stay with the fm kernel first

Hi im new here just bought my samsung note yesterday. Thinking of purchasing the external mem for storing movies and stuff. May i ask which brand is good? and also is it advisable to get 64gb stick instead of 32gb? Thinking of getting a class 6 64gb. Ive read that no point getting class 10 might as class 4 is the most optimum 1 for mobile phones. If i get class 6 will it slow down or sumthing? Sorry this is my first android phone was using iphone 3gs for few years till it died down on me.

Most of us is using Class 4 sdcard though it's nothing wrong if you want to buy Class 6 or 10. And both Class wont slowdown your phone. Try to buy a good sdcard as a chap ayam brand can easily corrupted. I'm using Sandisk and find that it's very reliable so far. If you have enough funds then go get the 64GB as GNote can handle 64GB sdcard without problem. Just make sure you buy a good/branded one.

is there anything i can use to protect my note from scratches?i mean something like a protective laver of plastic.whereby it alo protects the bezel.

just discover an "issue" with the chinese leaked ICS rom - all incoming calls are not matched to the existing database, i.e. although i have that contact number saved in my google contacts but when i am receiving call from that number, the number is displayed instead of the contact name.

Example: i save +6072348888 as "Home" but when i am receiving the call, it will display 072348888 instead of "Home".

any simple steps to solve this? many thanks.

i am sorry i got tooooo many questions. but why does my note laggs even after i use task manager to clear the ram,close apps,and i use the advanced task killer?it laggs whenever i play fruit ninja,ninjump,and abit here and there when exiting frm msgs or entering msg or typing.phone call,haix..

Why do you need to clear up you RAM.? You phone have plenty of RAM. Just close/exit any app that you used properly. And avoid using task killer unless you got roque app. But then any roque app better un-install instead of kill it. :-P

And also i have facing few times the phone cant wake after press the on button , i need to take out the battery

what is roque app?and my ram is onistated 800 mb.and whenever i check its like 600+ in use.then whn i clear it oni gt arnd 500+ or 400+ smth.

Tried yr suggestion...remove battery, used a toothpick, frayed the tip into a sort of tiny brush, used contact cleaner to spray the toothpick tip, then brushed/rubbed the contacts on the little tab inside the usb port, then unplugged charger from power outlet...sprayed the charging plug and plug in-out of phone few times...

And it works...for now...hope it works permanently...now charging...

Having some issues with the ICS, looks like gotta move back to substancer till the ori ICS is released.

Wat is roque app? Plenty of ram.. But when use default task manager to free ram, the phone becomes smoot.. this is a good thing, rite?

Downgraded my firmware version to DXKK1 and tried to root with Zergrush way and failed..
It showed "permission denied"..

Googled and found that it need to downgrade to older version which wasn't under Malaysia firmware, is there any other method to root by using local firmware?

Now I flash it back to firmware version DXLA1 though Odin, doesn't encounter flash counter. Is there any other impact if I flash stock firmware through Odin?


Let's say if I success to rooted the phone with CWM, by flashing it back to stock firmware through Odin and perform factory reset will it reset all the phone?

(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device.
OR you can install kies, that will do the job. Kies is here
(2) enable "USB DEBUGGING"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)
(3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
(4) [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
(5) connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC
(6) skip "PC Companion Software" prompt on device


Malaysia firmware KK1 can root with zergRush way.

No impact to flash STOCK firmware via Odin.

if you have rooted the phone, flashing it back to stock firmware through Odin will remove root.
Your data should be remain if the ROM is a non-wipe version.

Roque mean bad app or an app goes haywire/ran amuk. Running unnecessary in background when it suppose to sit idle. 800 - 600 = 200MB of RAM left. And that's a lot of un-used RAM. For what..? RAM un-used is a wasted RAM :-P

800MB Ram?I tot it's supposed to be 1Gb Ram??
