SEL50F18 worth to buy ????

I had snap some photos using Sony NEX-5N with 16mm lens without any filter / adapter. I don't think the output is that bad as online review. They is no vignette issue and not really have softening on side.

Attached below photos with different aperture, photo unmodified beside add-on signature only.

I use AWB all the time, unless I want something different, I find it AWB ok and kind of accurate.

hey guys, is there any shop that's selling the 16mm lens as is, without buying the entire kit?

Did you use any filter? (just notice you mention you not using any filter) or possible your 16mm defective? It is kind of strong vignette in your photo.

I try snap using f/8 as well, it is not that bad vignette.

I would actually worry less about these minor issues and instead of shooting white wall and lens caps to prove the point, why not do real world shots and make it work for you instead of against you?
I agree, vignette is stg of a drawback, but it's not like it's unable to be removed in post process? Furthermore, nowadays, who still posts photos without any touch up? Don't say moms and dads la. but my point is, shoot more to gain more experience, rather than moaning over stg you have no control over (unless you're very rich, then buying another lens isn't an issue ie. 24f1.8Z)

Since you own A850 I assume you own lots of precious lenses and doesn't mind bout weight issue, so by buying la-ea2 means that you can feed your nex with these precious instantly ! Imagine so many auto-focus Zeiss to let nex choose

using the 50mmf1.8 and the 1855 lens really hard to shoot whole portrait picture in crowded area.....

Doesn't the 1855 already cover your 35mm range? If you're talkin about aperture, there's always a manual lens solution. 35mm f/1.7 + peaking. If the rumours are right, the 35 e-mount is already in the pipeline.

Focus peaking helps. Yea, what u mentioned is true, so MF needs quicker fingers and mind.

From my personal experience,
1. Before lifting up the camera you already know in mind which point you want to focus on. For Portrait, i know that I always want the eyes to be in focus.
2. As you lift up the cam , the left hand should be already gripping on the focus ring, and right hand thumb roughly on the MF assist button.
3. Once the camera is raised, check on the focus peaking and
  - if confident, then MF and approximately at the time with the most 'red' peaking color, fire away.
  - if doubtful, right thumb immediately hits the MF assist and peaking focus as quick as possible and fire away. Don't need a second press on the MF assist before the shutter.

May set to Bracket: Cont. mode if i want to be more safe. But will end up with 2 extra shots to delete after.  Hope this helps.

Street is fun. Some tips from me another street newbie, Sometime I use rf to shoot street, I always set aperture f/8 and shutter I can handle, depends on the environments condition and film iso I used lar, in order to shoot my objects in focus. For nex, just set f8 and auto iso auto shutter, forget bout focus, patiently look for your objects, and shoot.

Great stuff bout street is there is always surprise/s, enjoy the street as its f***ing awesome !

Not true that the best has to be in focus.  The best /famous street photo taken by HCB of the man jumping over a puddle of water is quite blur.  It is the moments impression you are trying to freeze in the frame. Look at some of th older National Geographic magazine for examples.  Those taken pre 95 are with film. 

Just imagine your self as either a sniper or a gunman gone amok with an automatic gun on the street. Who is going to get the best shot?

Btw,selective cropping of you pix will do wonders to it.  Keep out the background 'noise'  using the golden mean rule is still a time tested way to do composition.  If you have difficulty fitting in the composition...  you know you have very likely got it wrong .... but there are always exceptions to the rule.

I monitor them as a hawk, NEX 5 and NEX 6 too little buttons/dials for my taste. NEX 7 lots of buttons and dials but 24mp seems overkill to me and there is no touch screen.  Look like there is really no perfect camera. haha
