Full manual flash non TTL
Strong Guide no. 58 with low price.
Strong optical sensor work in outdoor with S1/s2 mode
Manual Multi Flash strobist function
Can use external power pack
Fast recharging
Supporting high speed continuous shooting:Under the ouput level of 1/8 or below

Almost like those expensive Original flash minus the TTL function.

You need get the model for Sony hot shoe mount to work with NEX7.

here is one of the in studio off camera flash i taken during the Sony NEX studio workshop. Triggered by the optical sensor.

Now there is endless possibility to use NEX for professional shooting, depends on personal skill and setup. thumbup.gif

Nice of the bounce card.
Btw, i might no need this anymore. i have go for off cam flash.

Some of you might already see me posted sometime ago with my special designed flash diffuser for NEX and make it with 3D printer.
I have no problem to make this bounce card also, just slightly modify the CAD of the diffuser or make it as optional attachment.

Unless we have something like Kickstarter in US to fund the tooling, or else it will be too costly to produce for you guys. We need volume and initial funding for tooling cost, to bring down the affordable price to everyone.

So, probably in the current and coming times, these NEX's and it's lenses really do need to be the be good at still and be even better with video to stay relevant.
*
NEX do good for shooting movie! My fren used it to shoot Wedding and with MF lens it really work great!
And don't forget the SEL18200 is a lens designed for video!

When nex gonna release 35mm lens.....Zzzzzz
using the 50mmf1.8 and the 1855 lens really hard to shoot whole portrait picture in crowded area.....
*
I used the SEL30F35 for daily use and macro, it is quite good. Only issue is the AF hunting slow when low light and no OSS.

For portrait, I'm happy with my Konica Hexanon 50mm 1.4 and 1.7 lenses! They took sharp photo and also have nice Bokeh!

Great news for the release of new lenses.
But i think I will skipped for 35/1.8 since I already happy with the Voigtlander 28/2.0.
But Sony 16-50 f/3.5-5.6 OSS pancake zoom sounds interesting!!

Interesting information you have put forward.  Can you please give your personal experience?  I personally own 3 units with 3 different manufacture markings.  They all work great except of one unit and I am fully aware of its shortcomings.  I am very interested in your experience so that I can take necessary precautions.

Of the three that I own, two units perform close to the original battery.  For the price, CIF Malaysia ~US15/- ; in my opinion if capable of 75% capacity is acceptable.

I am using a 5N body.

I am aware  OEM battery for NIKON camera has issues.
*
I bought those batteries only from the local seller, which I can test during COD.
I bought Octopus one for NEX-5, the seller said the previous model are not compatible for newer 5N model which will show no battery inserted.
But luckily mine is OK which might be the latest which work with the 5N also.
Later i got from another LYN seller which himself is also NEX user and give warranty himself that the battery is working and his is 50% higher capacity.

So for any brand, you must test it before buy. better COD, don't try to save more and buy those cheapest online which might not working.
And most important, use only the original Sony charger provided which have safety feature.

hehe... i think it is ugly also at first glance.
The lens and knob part doesn't go along with the wooden handle.

Anyone have try to use the JJC MSA-010 hotshoe adapter with any wireless trigger?
i tried to mount the Yongnuo YN603C on the hotshoe and YN468 flash, i found it is not sync since the sync indicator light is not on.
i have set the switches to same channel.
I mount the YN468 directly on the hotshoe, the flash is working well, but not with the YN603C.
Dunno what's going wrong.
Anyone can enlighten me?

im also facing this problem.. but with yn rf 602..
the hotshoe trigger flash via big round metal at the centre..
sadly the rf602 (and rf603 if im not mistaken) is trigger via proprietary pins...

the solution.. sell your rf 603 and bought cheaper trigger like phottix pt-04
*
Apparently the RF603C with wake up function only work on Canon camera. Tested with Nikon DSLR also cannot trigger.

Yes, i returned the RF603 and bought JJC JF-T1 trigger set which just half of the RF603 price.
It triggered easily. of course it have lower quality built and lot less features than RF603.
But no choice, it is cheaper and working for any hot shoe and flash.
Maybe in future consider Aputure Trigmaster.

Tested the NEX5R, 6 and A99!!
The 5R have good upgrade fr 5N, but 6 is really nice lite version of 7 but not compromise the quality!!
Both also have hybrid AF!!!
i am set for 6, but next yr budget. wait for price drop a bit. just got my 5N few months back and just got the hot shoe adapter and wireless trigger, i'm satisfied at this moment!

The A99 is really amazing piece of technology. but over my standard!!

This time can see Sony out shine the C & N and others.
I hv tested various mirrorless system during the fair, i think 5N already beaten all others in the sub RM3k price range. Now all the coming models are show time and making others knee shake!!!

Btw, met some C/N fan boys and told them about the NEX6 and A99.
They told me it is just nothing special. I bet they nvr see and touch 1 in real life.
I'm quite fair to tech stuffs and food, good is good, bad is bad!
my 2cents. ^^

Anymore pics of Michelle please smile.gif
I dare not take any photos as I wasn't sure it was okay but she is the cutest thing there for sure and quite a good poser
*
bro, the Caseman girl we posted above is Michelle lah!! Didn't I mentioned her name?

nlik,
Sony's girls are tall and nice body shape, but they were not as sporting as the Caseman's girl Michelle and Diana.
Btw, which Tamron girl?

My another favorite is Samyang girl! Cute and sporting as Michelle but more 'Mature' body into my liking!!! brows.gif
I hv taken >200 shots over 2 days. This is good chance for me to practice event shooting especially experimenting different flash setting. Still a long way to learn.. tongue.gif
Using Manual Focus lens in this situation is really not easy. When do it right, the Konica Hexanon 50/1.7 & 40/1.8 lenses really give sharp image and nice bokeh! Voigtlander 28/2.0 also performance great!! thumbup.gif

Added on October 9, 2012, 6:14 pmSome are under exposed and some over. Need more practice on the flash gun and lighting exposure control, and also the distance of the subject.

It is tough to use Manual focus in the show. But it gave great sharpness when i got it, thanks to Konica Hexanon 50/1.7 legendary sharp lens. ^^

Nice one.. without flash also can take nice photos....
a lot better than my photos....

Bro, only part of it without flash which I didn't bring the wireless trigger on Saturday.
I used Voigtlander 28/2.0 and Konica Hexanon 40/1.8 on Saturday. I tried to maintain the iso up to max 800. Around F2.8-F5.6 and 1/50s-1/100s depends on situation. Some I added filled flash with the NEX's flash + DIY diffuser.

On Sunday afternoon I use off camera flash held by left hand, with JJC wireless trigger mounted on JJC Hot shoe adapter. That's my setup before getting the NEX-6.
Bought the Yongnuo YN560-II flash gun, really great one compare to my existing YN468. Really value for money manual flash! thumbup.gif
With the big off cam flash, I shot with iso100-200, 1/125-1/100s, F2.8-F5.6 depends on condition.
More on ISO200, F4, 1/125s for getting right focus.
It is not easy to MF while left hand holding the flash gun. sweat.gif

You guys should join the Sony Style Workshop, especially the flash photography workshop.
It is a lot of fun when you adventure into off cam flash!
even with simple kit lens can get you great sharp pic!
i'm just started to go into this. Will share with you guys on my latest setup which is work for NEX3/5/5N, while keep it lowest cost.
