I don't mind to share the fees if we have enough members to support this forum. just need someone who is capable to built this forum and we will have moderator, admin, webmaster and etc.....just like how other forum...

Honda Insight in my opinion is comfortable and has some sporty feel at the same time.Loved the light steering feel when maneuvering & taking sharp corners.
I also enjoy the fact that I can choose when to drive economically or not just by pushing the ECON button on and off.

I do build a couple of forums in the past but nowadays people are more active in Facebook. How about the Honda Insight Malaysia Facebook page? I can't seem to access it.

Hm..but facebook in not so practical.
is it better to have a proper sections so ppl wont have a repeated questions and answers. Easy for reader to search for specific topics.

examples sections:-

-General Discussion
-Engine & Performance Modifications
-Exterior Styling & Bodywork
-Wheels, Suspension & Tyres
-Interior Modifications, Security Gadgets & Other Gizmos
-ICE Cold Modifications
-Technical Discussion and Issues
-DIY Projects

another problem, some work place cant access to facebook, like my ofice

I've experienced working on forum, just to share my experienced.
There's a lot of effort need to be done,

Cost
1) vbulletin licensed if you want something like lowyat.net. - one time licensed usd285 (free one is out there like phpbb)
2) dedicated hosting plan which can support concurrent user. shared hosting is not capable to support forum. rm250-350 per month for better spec hosting server
3) domain name. rm35

Prevent Intrusion

1) spammers - spammer will create login and post advertisement. some spambot can bypass captcha.
2) hacker - potential will be attack by hacker and wipe out all data in the forum.

Moderators

1) where to look for trusted moderators? - they are not paid and will they work hard for you?
2) people come and go, you have trained them again.

Support & Backup

1) who will monitor the backup although it is auto triggered.
2) who will handle the support (with hosting provider or user who discover the bugs) if any bugs found in the forum or site down.

Profit

1) with so many effort, how we can generate more income (sponsor or google ads) and how to share?

there is not much profit can be made as insight is not a very popular car and target audience is niche. unless u build a forum call green car or hybrid which include toyota and later on proton.

If other forums like, teamcity, http://hcoc.net.my,http://eightgc2.forumup.com can do it, I cant see why we cant. Just need more members to support and share to build up.

To combine toyota and honda hybrid into 1 forum sounds like a good idea though.

It can be done, if you have the support, time and effort to do it. If you use zetaboards, you only have limited functionality and no control over the board. The board cannot be customize to your needs, perhaps in future or add advertisement as you like.

I think hcoc not so successful. Post are not up to date.

Successful forum provide fresh content, up to date info and contribution/support from users to post and help new user to stay and come back again. The problem I've faced last time is there is only few active member and most of them are sleeping member, end up I have to google and dig the info to post back. If new user doesn't get what they want they wont come back. Slowly the forum die off and all effort wasted. If can, go global not just Malaysia.

If you can solved all this problems then it will be a success.

Please proceed with the website. I dont think owners here mind to pay few rm to maintain the website.

Anyway, i suggest somebody talk to Honda Malaysia whether they can support the website. They might place somebody from marketing as moderator so its good & better communication especially on complaints and problems. If HM started this, they are the first to conduct such effort & it would promote hybrid or even EV for future. The website might also combined with CR-Z and Jazz and properly segmented.

hm....well we need to start somewhere. we can use the basic forum provider to start off and when it gets better, change to a better forum provider...

lets have a vote and see how many lowyat forum agree to support and help on building an official forum.

True, you can do a small test and create a plain forum for insight and see the respond. Also to promote your url is prohibited here and many place. To promote, you can shared them during TT sessions, organize TT more frequent. Print stickers or anything...go word of mouth.

Also, to encourage user contribution I've add some ranking or reward system for the most contributor which can be customized for paid forum. I've done that but still doesn't work out. Hopefully you can do better and think of great idea.

Came across this statement that the tire pressures for Honda Insight shd be set to 38 psi front, 35 psi rear and not 32 psi all around. Can anyone confirm? [ http://www.insightcentral.net/KB/faq-efficiency.html. ]

May be that is for the 1st gen Insight.

Our Insight, front 33, rear 32. And imho already quite firm. More than that, the ride will be harder besides risk of burst.

During weekday (go office 9am, come home, 6pm) usually set 24 or 25 if raining.

During weekend usually set 20 during noon time and yes it will blow hard when set at this temp.
