dont care whether back or front focus.
not in focus means not in focus.
so try it and shoot at something.

its not a must for a newer body, if u dunno what u want from it.
u need high fps? u need good iso? u need faster AF? 10yrs ago, none of these existed in digital bodies...but ppl still took good photos. dont even need to go back 20,30,40,50 yrs or more |

QUOTE(ojtee @ Mar 4 2012, 12:17 AM) I think Tony is using the D3s , which has a BG built-in, thus when shooting vertically, maybe part of the strap hinders control of part of the vertical controls and making it difficult to control the controls of the vertical controls not really.i hope im making some sense...... vertically, u cant really access anything easy anyway except for the AF-ON and command dial. and both can still be accessed with strap behind thumb...actually not behind thumb literally...but its hooked near the base of the thumb... |

QUOTE(wke002 @ Mar 4 2012, 08:49 AM) Nice night shot. Am still not good at taking night shot, status under starter nikon 20mm is the easiest widest one to find...and not that expensive.Anyone can recommend me wide angle fix lens that does not cost a bomb for my d7000. The closest I see is Nikon 20mm, any other brand also ok, say 10 to 15mm, I know tokina 11-16 good but I just want like fix 35mm size or 20mm size. I search tokina, sigma, tamron dun have such lens. Cheers on a Sunday....... also got 14mm and 18mm primes, but definitely not cheap or even easy to find here. |

QUOTE(ifer @ Mar 4 2012, 12:00 PM) i know what you are saying... D4 battery life is also lesser than D3s but the way you say it, it's like a camera's performance is based solely on high iso performance only. D4 might have improved on something else that's much more lacking than the high iso performance. what i like about D4 tho is they added another mini joystick that can be used in vertical mode. would be nicer tho if the AF-ON button was put closer to the shutter button. |

if D4 is targetted at sporting pros, the most they will go is ISO3200 with a f/4 lens.
most of the time will be at ISO1600 or lower depending on condition with their f/2.8 lens. so i would think for them the high ISO is already excellent at those settings. what D4 offers them tho, is 10FPS at RAW with no noticeable loss in speed due to its 100 shot RAW buffer. and, it can still AF with lenses f/8 and slower, meaning they can stick on a 2x TC in front of their 200-400 f/4, and get a 400-800 f/8 that can still AF...no current body right now is able to do this. QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Mar 5 2012, 09:05 PM) 2x TC for sport photographer? you must be jk right? wow ifer was right, u really know alot.for fast action shots, you need to have fast af speed, superb tracking accuracy and high speed burst mode. i bet you have nv try any TC before. The af speed with TC is like 2 times slower than without. The 2x TC is the worst, it's horrendously slow and totally not suitable for fast pace action. this is why we rarely see sports photographer using TC. TC is more useful on birding/wildlife, and it's only for slow(seldom move) subjects. maybe next time u can follow me and i'll show u lots of sports photographers with TC. im sure if i dig around from some of them they can show me some published shots with their 2.0e III. and these were done with my 70-200vr2 with 2.0e III. 360mm, f/5.6. ![]() 400mm, f/5.6. ![]() got more but havent edited yet. nm, just a couple more with tc2.0. 400mm, f/5.6. ![]() 390mm, f/5.6. ![]() even if there was a slow down in AF, it was definitely nowhere near 2 times slower and which u are just assuming as u probably have never used it. images are marginally softer wide open, but thats to be expected, although with the new 2.0e III its nowhere near as bad as the last version II. QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Mar 5 2012, 09:40 PM) haha, say whatever you want. moving towards me? like this?i merely speaking the facts. your photos show only simple action, the first photo subject face is oof. try to snap them when they running toward/backward you, not when they are standing still(like the photo you show) ![]() so...lets see what kinda sports stuff you can do?
