QUOTE(vearn27 @ Feb 27 2012, 10:36 PM) Come to talk about these loose and tight, a few commented that my 17-55 zoom ring is tight and asking if I dropped the lens before which I didn't. The focus ring is loose and as celciuz mentioned can be easily turned with one finger, however the zoom ring will require some strength to get turned. Is that normal for zoom ring? if its not level then will definitely feel tight, cos of the weight of all the glass. |

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Feb 27 2012, 10:58 PM) What do you mean by if it's not level then will definitely feel tight? Do you feel your zoom ring is tight or loose? Tight as in can't easily move with a single finger. means when its pointing up or down...i already mentioned mine 3 posts before u just now... but anyway, both my focus and zoom ring is tight but can still be turned with 1 finger. the zoom ring is just slightly tighter than focus cos has to move all the glass...but nevertheless...1 finger no problem. not exactly a good pic, but shows what the TC 2.0e III can do.
can see the fur from the tennis ball in the air at full 400mm wide open, unedited cept for resizing. if put thru sharpening then sure can see even clearer. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by Everdying: Feb 28 2012, 11:22 PM |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Mar 1 2012, 01:24 PM) noob pork chop shot the pic looks slightly blur.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « should i lower aperture from f/2.8 to f/4 for sharper shot? duno...my camera already show "LO" in shutter speed there even i use max iso 1600, f/2.8 liao.... so u lower aperture, then more of the image will look blur. IIRC LO can mean exposure not enough, or shutter speed too slow so may get blur. in ur case, its a combination of both...+2/3 ev should also look nicer. anyway, why never use bounce flash? |

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Mar 1 2012, 03:34 PM) You mean DOF on DX is thinner than FX? Shouldn't that be the other way around? if both object at the same distance. In anyway, there are much more than just angle and camera setting for food photography. How the light setup to be is the more specific. If it's just take a photo on-the-go, that's more depends on how the photographer wanted to "express" as it is DOF on DX is thinner. but when u frame the object so both looks the same in the viewfinder. ie. u move closer with FX, then the DOF on FX become thinner cos closer to object. |

QUOTE(amduser @ Mar 1 2012, 07:56 PM) this is why we see a lot of picture with the subject having shinny hair and shinny face, flashbang in the face~ no la.if slow lens like 55-300mm f4.5-5.6 maybe need flash, but for 34mm 1.8 i'll just shot at wide open and adjust distance with my legs "quantity of light" vs "quality of light". basically, sometimes u may have lots of light, but the quality is not there. maybe u want a catchlight, maybe u dont want all the light coming from one side or behind until u cannot see the person's face when u shoot etc. |
