Hi guys, I tried to flash the upgraded ARHD 2.1.5 ROM, did the clear Dalvik Cache and wipe data and then flash the ROM. However, I realized that I need to re-setup the phone, restore all the apps and data manually again. Question is, I thought flashing an upgraded ROM will not wipe previous system apps and data??? rclxub.gif

Anyone can clarify on this?

That is because you choose wipe data which is factory reset

First time you flash custom rom advisable wipe data. Root your phone first use titanium backup to backup your apps/data n use cwm backup whole rom too incase you need restore back

depending on the rom's nature. if dev ask u to wipe, den u better wipe. if din ask u to wipe, its recommended to wipe.

Most will ask you to wipe but i never even moving among developers. Anyway is your choice as you can always wipe data in recovery mode if phone fail to boot

Guess in the future will see the developer whether it is a must or optional. Can be quite hassle to restore back those widgets especially since Titanium Backup can't do that... sweat.gif Thanks Fallenangelz and Uncle Benny! thumbup.gif

Clear cache partition plus dalvik cache before flashing any new rom or even kernels

One more question on ARHD 2.1.5 ROM, do you need to root the device first before flashing it? thanks Uncle Benny.
