Added on January 26, 2012, 1:45 pmJust finish backup my phone using clockworkmod recovery.Do i need to take out the backup folder?Or i can just leave it in my phone to flash custom roms??It is normal that my backup folder size is smaller than my actual data?I have about 3GB data, but the backup only 5xx MB.

The backup does not include your data in the viewable partition You can make a copy in your pc but leave it in phone. Incase your phone crash than you can restore it from recovery. No point deleting the backup if you want a backup Added on January 26, 2012, 1:52 pmQUOTE(rifles @ Jan 26 2012, 01:49 PM) But i thought if i flash new rom to phone. it will wipe out all my data??? Who told you such nonsense Unless before you flash rom you choose to wipe phone. And it only wipe your apps in hidden partition.all viewable stuffs in internal sd remain intact This post has been edited by benny888: Jan 26 2012, 01:52 PM

Currently i'm using yakju4.0.2 .I plan to flash to aosp4.0.3. According to the flashing instructions
1. Make sure you're on the latest CWM 2. MAKE A NANDROID 3. wipe data/factory reset in recovery -- a must if coming from a stock-based ROM 4. flash ROM 5. flash Gapps 6. reboot 7. sign into Google 8. (recommended) reboot immediately after
The step 3, If i choose to wipe data/factory reset in recovery.Which partition it will wipe out?the hidden?viewable or both?

Like what Benny said, if you scared copy everything to your pc. You can try it out to experience yourself after everything has been backup to your pc. Without trying out yourself you won't get the idea. Worst case copy back from your pc. Stop asking since you already got the info and start doing.

You internal SD will not be touched when you wipe data or cache using CWM recovery. No matter how many times you ask, the answer will be the same.

Dear rifles : looks like you did not even do a proper reading up of what is CWM recovery and how to flash roms. This is a simple guide and I assume you have already installed CWM
Switch off phone. Boot to recovery mode - press vol button and power simultaneously. Use vol button move up or down select RECOVERy and press start Phone will boot to recovery mode At the menu : select clear cache partition, at advance clear dalvik cache and finally clear data/factory rest Than select zip file - browse to where you copy the rom zip - select it Phone will flash and just wait for it to reboot successfully

Easy. Like seriously. +1 If terlalu paranoid and want easy way out, boot into CWM from the toolkit. Got an option there. Then in CWM, just flash la...... haizzzzzz..... Anyway, I hear the stock firmware kinda buggy? So far no updates on the stock non-yakju firmware right? Cos I don't want my friend who wants this phone but forced to use buggy stock firmware. I know can custom rom/etc. However, they prefer to not void warranty. And they don't want iPhone.
