should i change aircond & alternator belting also as im going to change the clutch?
how much usually the service charge to change these belts?
*
inspect first, if not broken no need change la..

normally change during timing belt change.. but depends..

both belts cost less 100, labour depend on shop..

Whats wrong with JEC? i'm using the blue cable, so far so good..

worst come to worst, clutch & gear oil changed but the metal grinding sound still there..left drive-shaft's rubber torn probably caused water entering gearbox..the proton pomen not dare to disassemble gearbox & overhaul..

Hello all. I just bought a used 2009 Proton Savvy manual.

The car is missing the original Proton owner's manual and the service intervals manual. I was planning to do my own regular maintenance. Do you guys TT in the Klang Valley region so I can borrow and photocopy the books or just let me know what are the service intervals?

shakehead.gif do not ask 4man about gear oil, if you ask him, he will say semua boleh, boleh guna others gear oil, boleh boleh.
after changed gear oil semua boleh, gear box will failure,

nod.gif for replace parts you check market price first before change, a lot agent and supplier menipu owner Savvy, they makup high price or not original renualt parts, they give you original renualt box but is local parts.

thumbup.gif for the Service/Repair you go Renuatech workshop see Mr.Willian he nice man. jalan USJ 1/4 subang jaya.

a) Engine oil n filter - 8k - 10k or 6 mths. Reputable mineral or semi syn in 10W-30 or 10W-40 will do. API SL above.
b) Gear oil - 50k - 60k. Use original Elf ONLY.
c) Air filter n TB cleaning - 20k or 1 yr. Dont neglect this.
d) Spark plug - 40k. Bosch recommended n cheap.
e) Brake fluid - 40k or 2 yrs. Branded DOT 4 recommended.
f) Coolant - for me as long as it's not dirty i wont touch it. top up/refill with Proton coolant and DISTILLED or DEIONISED water ONLY. DO NOT add mineral or pipe water.
g) Pwr steering fluid - 40k or 2 yrs. DIY suck out n refill, drive for a few days n repeat 1 or 2 times until d fluid looks red. Branded ATF Dexron 3 recommended.
h) Timing belt - 80k - 100k.
i) Cluth n brake pads- when required.

Common things to look out for:
Loose TDC sensor's wire, Ignition coil, Pwr steering swith, Gearbox speed sensor, rear wheel bearing.

Other than that pretty bulletproof and easy to maintain.

Btw, welcome to the Savvy family. icon_rolleyes.gif
