worst come to worst, clutch & gear oil changed but the metal grinding sound still there..left drive-shaft's rubber torn probably caused water entering gearbox..the proton pomen not dare to disassemble gearbox & overhaul..
guess, my kurakura gonna r.i.p. for a while |

Hello all. I just bought a used 2009 Proton Savvy manual.
The car is missing the original Proton owner's manual and the service intervals manual. I was planning to do my own regular maintenance. Do you guys TT in the Klang Valley region so I can borrow and photocopy the books or just let me know what are the service intervals? |

QUOTE(e-lite @ Nov 21 2013, 11:24 AM) Hello all. I just bought a used 2009 Proton Savvy manual. a) Engine oil n filter - 8k - 10k or 6 mths. Reputable mineral or semi syn in 10W-30 or 10W-40 will do. API SL above. The car is missing the original Proton owner's manual and the service intervals manual. I was planning to do my own regular maintenance. Do you guys TT in the Klang Valley region so I can borrow and photocopy the books or just let me know what are the service intervals? b) Gear oil - 50k - 60k. Use original Elf ONLY. c) Air filter n TB cleaning - 20k or 1 yr. Dont neglect this. d) Spark plug - 40k. Bosch recommended n cheap. e) Brake fluid - 40k or 2 yrs. Branded DOT 4 recommended. f) Coolant - for me as long as it's not dirty i wont touch it. top up/refill with Proton coolant and DISTILLED or DEIONISED water ONLY. DO NOT add mineral or pipe water. g) Pwr steering fluid - 40k or 2 yrs. DIY suck out n refill, drive for a few days n repeat 1 or 2 times until d fluid looks red. Branded ATF Dexron 3 recommended. h) Timing belt - 80k - 100k. i) Cluth n brake pads- when required. Common things to look out for: Loose TDC sensor's wire, Ignition coil, Pwr steering swith, Gearbox speed sensor, rear wheel bearing. Other than that pretty bulletproof and easy to maintain. Btw, welcome to the Savvy family. |
