Yes you can but a lot and I mean a lot of people have complained about iTunes failing to download the firmware halfway through the restore process. If you download the stock firmware manually, the next time you want to restore the firmware, you just need to do a Shift + Restore.

You cannot simply update your jailbroken iPhone as the files may have been moved by the jailbreaking process and iTunes will be confused.

A shift + restore wipes the iPhone clean and you start fresh.

Try the locations below

Firmware files have an .ipsw extension and can be found at the following locations:

On Windows XP :
Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

On Windows Vista/Windows 7:
Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

On Mac:
~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates

You may want to disable any AV software etc and see how it goes.

Check your host file. If you are restoring to stock firmware, you must ensure that the host file is clean (no line with xx.xx.xxx gs.apple.com)

This maybe the case because I remembered you telling me that you managed to downgrade to 4.3.3 which would mean the host file would have been altered in some way to allow for the downgrade.

Yes it does and now I'm religiously using it to make sure that I only use it when I need it. It is now always off unless I plan to make Skype calls or FaceTime over 3G. It is off this month since I already breached my data limit.

No, 9A406 is only for the 4s. Are you using a locked set with a preserve baseband?

What baseband are you on? 01.59.00 on the iPhone 4?
What method did you use again (probably somewhere in the previous pages but probably easier if you inform it here)?

If you have the opportunity to use a Mac, you can doing the restore using custom firmware created via PwnageTool.

So you are using a Gevey Sim to unlock I supposed? Could it be that it's the compatibility of the Gevey Sim that is giving you problems?

Yes, respringing should solve the problem. Rebooting will not solve it. If respringing does not work, try and install a free tweak from Cydia and respring.

I think you have asked this 5 times already. Sorry for not replying earlier but this is how you do it

1. Click on More --> History. There will be a button at the top right corner which says CLEAR. Press that button and it will prompt for confirmation. Once you confirm, all your YouTube history will be gone.

2. Go to the search tab and press the small x at the end of the search window and you're done. The next time you start up YouTube, no history or no text/video in the search tab.

That is weird. I have restarted several times and my youtube add has no history and the search tab is empty. I did clear the Safari Cache and Cookies prior to doing this though ... I also cleared the websire data (under Safari Settings --> Advance --> Website Data)

You may want to try that as well.

Thought about the safari setting because there is no settings for YouTube. Thought that they might be related.

I have an iMac, a MBP and an 8 year old Windows XP Vaio which I rarely (as in twice a year). My wife has the hand-me-down iPhone 4 which is sharing the same Apple ID as mine ... and we have 2 iPad 2 which is using the same Apple ID as well .... so ... I can't think of any situation where I will be needing this tweak other than times when I meet-up with a non-iphone carrying friend which is rare nowadays .....

Can you guys (if you're in my situation) think of some reasons why this AirBlue Sharing will be useful?

I had an N8 before and that was why I bought Celeste. Worked once and the never worked again. I was able to send the photos taken with the N8 camera so that was the main use at the time.

Now, I cannot see why I should have it other than when I meet up with an android/Symbian/windows phone user.
