just brought iphone4s .. but have a problem with connect the itune .. it keep hang .. unable to tranfer any file or doing.. just hang and not responding... if unplug the iphone.. if become normal back.. z plug in iphone hang z.z

Problem with your computer, not the phone. How many GB is your RAM?

iTunes would normally hang, just don't do anything, don't try to close it, it'll make it worse. Just wait patiently while it is trying to sync your phone.

sync.. wait more then 5hr still hang.. zz so is it really normal ? T_T

yup voice to text has been a Godsent for me during driving times man, damn good the function, so far i actually haven't had any problems with dictation yet, but i'm sure some word will kena one

i'm not trying to say anything offensive...but because it's not in ur sig....i used to have this problem, when i used fake windows os, not sure if its your case. but when i used fake os all i had to do was reinstall itunes then it was fine already

The yellow screen is actually quite normal.. It's just the glue for the display hasn't dried yet.. You can see the discussion here..

if your itunes freezes while syncing, run cmd as administrator, then type:

netsh winsock reset

hit enter and it should say something like winsock reset successful. restart your computer after that.

this worked for me. i had the same problem

i relized that sometime battery drop 1% per 4 hour, sometime drop 1% per hour. totally blur.

Get the SGP Ultra Optics, its the best one I've tried so far

The yellow tint can be cured. Wait for a week or two.

Dear sifus, i got problem with my 3G connection. First few weeks used no problem with turning on/off 3G. Then suddenly when i turn on 3G, it cant detect the signal and no 3G symbol appear on the screen. How to overcom this problem? The only way to fix the 3G problem is by reset your whole network settings... I dont want lost all the wifi details... Can i call this "3Gate"?

Me new to the familia. Just got mine last saturday, with a birth certificate of white 64gb.

Why I don't have my birth certificateeee

I've got the 4S for about one week. Drops about 1% per hour. I think it's difficult to get better than that as I can't switch off 3G.

From my past experience with my Androids (Xperia Arc and Galaxy S2), ~1% per hour on 3G is about right.

When it is on 2G, yes, I can get ~1% drop every 3 or 4 hours. But can't test on 4S as cannot turn off 3G

Think I need to check on my settings..
Got my 4s on Friday..phone was fully charged at 10am.. Removed cable.. Continued sleeping ;p got up at 130 n saw dat phone batt was at 89%..
Got notification that theres new msgs in line & email.. That's all...

~1% per hour is excellent. My 4s drops 15% every hour if I'm using the 3G to surf the net or stream Hitz FM via the app. Battery life is not so good so basically I charge my phone every night nowadays. At most I get 20 hours before the battery konks on me.

Depends on your settings.. whether you let anything running in the background.. like Locations, Notifications etc. I set my email to NEVER fetch (manual). Also, iCloud is not used. BT, Wifi OFF.

Also, check these settings:
Location Services > System Services > all OFF except Cell Network Search

Haha, how come you guys looks like so suffer using the iPhone? No fun lar if like that. Battery finish then just charge it, no big deal. Enjoy the phone mah...close everything, better use back normal phone...lolz

It's called trial n error.. Btw.. No one is complaining about having to charge the phone.. It's about how to optimize the battery life..
Btw.. 'closing everything' does not mean shutting off every app.. I was referring to the response on ensuring that wifi n bt is off when not in use..

The thing so funny is sometime drop 1% sometime 1% for 4 hours.

If really not satisfy with the product (battery or phone), you can choose not to use it. Battery life...is it so important? If just worry about the battery life then scare to charge, then no fun and no enjoy it liao lor. Use a thing with full of worries, where got fun lar bro...take it easy...just my feeling la...

I've been trying to get wireless sync to work with my desktop for ages...

i've tried everything i see from googling..

Cleaning registries / deleting every apple app then reinstalling / turn off firewall / reset router / reboot pc / reboot phone ..

Anyone who has this problem?

Funny thing is, i have no problem detecting my phone using my laptop .

but my desktop ( using a wireless USB Dongle ) , cannot detect my phone at all !

I'm thinking it is the dongle that limits the functionality.. but then i remembered streaming media from my desktop perfectly..

Any ideas guys? i'm having a hard time figuring this one out.. spent hours reading macrumors and other sites.. and even tried apple's troubleshooting guide.

Can't be my router, as my laptop detects it ..

Do you mean when u press the home button, you have to wait a bit before the screen is turned on?

I think this is because the phone is waiting for a second press... if there is no second press, then it turns on as normal.

If there is a second press (double press or double click), then the phone displays the music player control and also the camera button on the lockscreen.

the delay is actually because of the downclock of the processor, to save battery when it is idle,


u cannot expect the processor to stay at 800 mhz the whole time right

all smartphones has this delay

i did it when i read it on redmond last time but it's damn damn damn hard for me to get a good panoramic picture la, such a waste, its such a cool effect
one other thing happened to me when i did this, my internet connection screwed up somehow...dunno why, i had full bar 3G and when i switch to wifi also got full bar wifi, but safari not working, and whatsapp not working, always 'connecting' or 'waiting for network' then a notice will come out saying 'no proper internet connection or wifi connection detected'

anyone else suffered this? it was fixed when i removed the panoramic camera effect though

You can turn off cellular data (3G + EDGE/gprs) but not 3G alone.

Ability to turn off 3G (use 2G GSM instead) will be available with iOS 5.1.... but if you totally do no want to use mobile data, you still need to turn off Cellular Data.

It will fit but not perfectly. The only this is that, guys in apple made some improvement on the signal degradation in which people were facing on the ip4. They fix it in this 4s. As the matter of obvious, u can notice there is a cross mark on the top right and left of the phone. Thus this made the ring/silent button to move down a little. Therefore, if u still wanna use the ip4 casing then have to compromise a little for the ring/silent button

some can fit, depending on how big the manufacturers made the hole for the silent button

there were only issues with the AT&T iPhone 4 since the ring/silent button was a little higher. for instance my old griffin bumper which I used on my old iPhone 4 fits my 4s but it's wonky at the ring/silent button.

if you have a casing you used for your iPhone 4 and it was a local, set it'll fit your 4s just fine.
