Guys help, how to make my bike go faster???

I pump my tire at the right PSI, i clean and maintain by bike, but still, feel like very slow and sluglish.

i know its me, but my 2k also got a certain speed.

Last time while i was working, i saw a guy cycle slow but the bike move fast. LOL??

Wanna go faster, train harder... or get better parts.

planning to buy 9 speed groupset..which 1 more ok? alivio or acera or deore???
n btw, wat is d dfference btween epicon 1 n epicon 2 forks??

Last time i train until crazy, now dont want to be crazy anymore.
And yes, the guy i saw was cycling smoothly, while myself was like very sluglish and pushing hard. Could it be the chain???

You saw the guy cycle slow but the speed is fast i think because that guy using biggest chain ring and smallest cassette.Once it go smooth you dont have to cycle hard to go fast,it's like the bike is pulling you instead of you paddling hard to get it move.My bike is giving me this kind of feel when paddling smooth

what about silver chain and black chain? Mine is black, will silver better???

Don't think the colour got different when cycling but if the chain itself got problem ie. jam up then it will affect when paddling.Tyre also play a role when cycling.If you use off road tyre to cycle on road then you use more energy.Change the tyre to something suitable on road ie. kenda small block 8 and so from other brand.

my tyre some how drift too much, abit botak already, less friction loh, approve or not??

I say go for Deore since it's more sturdy than acera and alivio.Difference between epicon x1 and x2 mainly on the weight and also some technology use on the fork itself.You can check their catalogue in the web.

Tyre botak means not enough grip and you'll lose the momentum for the speed.So i guess you know what i mean

Hi folks, am a newbie to MTBs. hope to get some advice from the otai otia sifus here. Would like to get a new MTB, budget around 1.5k. Am considering a 29' Raleigh Hydra....http://www.raleigh.my/bikes/hydra.html

Really love the look and feel of the bike but slightly tall for me...I think I should be looking at a 16" but the Hydra feels like its bigger. Anyone checked out the bike and any comments?

Of course deore is better. Epicon 1 and 2 is just the version, epicon 2 cant change the length of the travel if not mistaken.

Better get a giant talon or something for that price. The hydra is just plain fugly

Sadly to tell you that none of the sifus or otai here try the raleigh bike since it's out of their league.But i can tell you 29" bike is a good bike and for a 16" it's look bigger/taller coz of the wheel is 29".For you to make sure it's suit you of not you need to try it out for yourself.Wrong size will make you feel back discomfort and shoulder discomfort.

Try to save up few more hundred and get yourself a scott 29" or giant 29" or merida 29".The price will be around 1.8k -1.9k if im not wrong.

Appreciate the feedback. Have to disagree about the looks of the raleigh, IMHO is a classy looking bike. May look at the scott 29 too. Another alternative would be the Merida TFS. Pedalsport near my home carries the brand and its good to have a place nearby to service the bike
