Hey guys! while waiting for my custom DIY track to finish i received lots of cool 80's TAMIYA vintage off-roader R/C kit a re-release 1984~1986 models and took a week to work them all this month. So i bought bunch of them namely a re-re 1984 GRASSHOPPER, '84 HORNET, '86 BLACKFOOT and '86 MONSTER BEETLE. They are classic and nostalgia piece of over engineering models made by TAMIYA yet beautifully scale during my childhood. Enjoy building last few weeks and manage to run lot of off-roading action.

And here are the snapshots of my completed TAMIYA build kits plus some off-road in action. Love it and completely a gem to keep it as nostalgic piece of R/C engineering of the 80's.

Oh yeah, i forgot to post updates on my portable crawler track and also mini FPV track for 4x4 adventure. Painted it scale and nice using acrylic paint. Check my awesomeness project. Still WIP because need to put small vegetation ornaments, track object and programmable stuff imbedded. Going to be high tech track stuff. biggrin.gif

Latest track updates: LEDs lighting added for night track adventures
I've added strips of leds on the ceiling inside the caves and also around the rocky arch structure to make the track more enjoyable to drive and view around at night/in the dark for rock crawling activity indoor. Today i invited a friend to test around my new track, he's on hummer while i'm on my Jeep as usual. Had lots of fun climbing over lots of artificial rubbles and rocks. Glad i build this track, had super awesome time with it, i need to buy more Orlandoos soon!

The tamiya cars are R/C cars in Kit like plastic models included electronics stuff like ESC and motor. Just add radio, battery and servo then you can start driving it. Super fun. They are sometimes rare and collectibles unlike other R/C models. biggrin.gif

Yup, but maybe everyone shifted their hobby to drone flying. But i still love ground R/C models because they have aesthetic value that doesn't depreciate over time unlike drone. cool2.gif

i dont have any drones but i join dji spark fb group. with all the no fly zone and unfortunate events of crashing/out of control, i'd rather be playing crawlers wub.gif its the torque that matters biggrin.gif

Yup crawler is fun true hobby..scale matters, for drone well the hype will slowly fades away but remember its just merely 'tools and utility' for photography than hobby. I have DJI but regret buying it many years ago..even its a second hand stuff.

i was a photo enthusiast so drone photography interests me much because it opens new perspective of photography, new angles which were possible only from high rise/towers or even helicopters. but by looking at mere less than 10mins in average of battery life i dont think its enough to have fun just to fly around. maybe drone racing is a different story laugh.gif
