QUOTE(winterwish @ Aug 20 2015, 03:05 PM) I haven't test it outdoor yet, but the parts build compare to real Vaterra (my friend's) is around 15% misses in quality but for the price is far 90% better than something you see on stiffy HSP crawler, NANDA brand or WL-toys off-roaders. I can't judge now until i ran outdoor this Saturday. |

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Aug 20 2015, 11:50 PM) I was shocked with the price at first until i saw the whole box, i thought it was Vaterra Twin Hammer. Those are brushed setup but i prefer brushed motor for slow and accurate torque control over slippery rocks unless i have low KV 'sensored brushless type. But stock is good enough. Tonite installing FPV system and GPS stuff for in cockpit driving cos tomorrow is dirt action day. Those are brushless setup i assume? First thing that gonna come off is the driveshaft, brushless motor does kick in some heavy power and those plastic isnt gonna hold up pretty well. From your picture, looking at the driveshaft joint, pretty same with SCX10. Change it to steel |

More video added, FPV modification in-cockpit action:
Videos: QUOTE(winterwish @ Aug 24 2015, 02:33 PM) Awesome man.. enjoying the vids. I don't think its waterproof because i opened and saw internal parts. More likely rain/splash proof but right now its dry season.Just wondering is the stock RC waterproof? Now with all the electrical that you've added, not likely going to be waterproof yea. |

QUOTE(Caterpillar_3309 @ Apr 14 2016, 12:10 PM) Hi guys. I wanna story a bit since this thread is a kinda ghost town Things has changed for the past decades on R/C models, its getting cheaper due to competitive market. What you paid 20 or 10 years ago is now cheaper by 3~5x. Nowadays we have things called cloned version of famous brand, means that made by same contractor who mold the models but rebranded it and sold at half price or triple cheaper. Some people can pay over RM1,500 for a branded an AXIAL or Traxxas while other who couldn't afford but wanted to own a similar one can purchase rebranded (HSP/HOBBY KING/NANDA/HG/FS) or clone version with all compatible parts fittings at half the price or lower at RM$699. Some of these comes offering with good catchy upgrade to catch the market, even our local shop sell a fully alloy hop-up clone chassis of for just RM$1,000 and also a good looking trail/rock crawler for under RM$499. Which is why the Custom doesn't bother to detention any hobby models because thing from china are getting cheaper by majority because most malaysian will opt for alternate branding:I got to know about crawlers when i ask guys at kopitiam about what kind of rc cars that i gonna give to my kid as a birthday present, last year. One of the guys there mention something about crawlers. I dig up some info and found out it's something that i've been dreaming of since the 1st time i've put my hands on an rc truck, waaayy back in 1993. A dream about a real 4x4 truck with working suspensions equipped with realistic tires (not the goofy monster truck tires that was on my truck back then) that can be driven on nearly all kinda surfaces. One particular model that caught my attention is, the Axial SCX10 Ram Power Wagon. Then i began my hunt. 1st of all, i browse all the local channel; mudah, lelong, whatsapps, fb then i found rcsmart.com. There, i witness the price changes, from rm1,399, to rm1,599 and now currently at rm1,799, but out of stock. The response from them oso quite frustating. They'll probably gonna restock it maybe in June or July, and the price would likely gonna increase. Then i asked a well-known seller in whatsapp groups, he oso don't have stock, and probably not gonna restock the Ram in the near future. A seller in fb from sarawak got 1 last unit, but it is a display one, and the price is a whopping rm1,900. all these price hikes is due to the weakening MYR, so they said. I continue the search and after much sniffing, i found one at rcmart.com, a Hong Kong based online store. The price, after including normal air postage, is around usd362 which is after conversion, is rm1,410. Well, thanks to a recovering MYR of course. U see, i never spend more than usd50 on international online purchase. But when considering that i'm not gonna get the Ram at that price here, ever, i closed my eyes and let my cc do the wonders. And THEN i start worrying about all those kastam detention, taxes and charges. Shit. I just pray to God that they will not gonna butchered the box and messed up the contents Then after 10 days, for the price of rm1,410 including postage, after watching all the unboxing vids on youtube to death, my Ram has arrived in front of my eyes: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « What surprised me the freaking most, there were no detentions, inspections or even a freaking tax imposed on it. I just got it raw from Hong Kong just like that. Is it just a blind luck or what? The Ram now sits properly in its box, under my office table. I'm too sayang to cut the factory stickers This evening the missus and kids went back to kampung, and i'll stay back at the office. I am gonna explore the heck out of it A good example of cloned version of AXIAL SCX10 but still able to fit their parts (parts fitting compatibility) is this one price at around RM$643/- only average (depending on currency rate): http://www.banggood.com/HG-110-2_4G-4WD-Wh...r-p-969753.html Clone: AXIAL SCX10 This post has been edited by SupermotoXL: Apr 16 2016, 09:13 AM |
