AFAIK marvell controller will have slower writing speed.
ask for ur CPU clock, u can go to ur bios there for power settings and raise the voltage slowly + test for stability. will take quite some time doing oc.
u can get more info from here too:

you dont have much choice bro your mobo specifically X58 chipset doesnt have Intel SATA3 port like those new chipsets P67, Z68, Z77 etc. Marvell SATA3 port is indeed slower than Intel's so you will not get the speeds like rated in the specs.

Must press F6 during setup to install the AHCI drivers, performance wise I think Windows 7 should have the advantage since it's built with SSD in mind. hmm.gif
Several foreign forum post to read about Windows 7 vs Windows XP on SSD.

i wonder if it's the performance bottleneck caused by your sata controller? i have the same issue where my 520 perform lower than expected on my laptop but perform near to expected on my desktop.
*
I don't think it's a bottleneck of the controller... This SSD is connected to PORT0 of my Intel Z77 board which is a native 6Gbps port. AHCI mode is also enabled.

QUOTE(benlaw @ Aug 3 2012, 10:18 AM)
the more storage you have the faster the speed you have
and larger 256gb will have better write speed

i think for 120gb user 200gb write speed is common already

Same results with AS, and my drive is properly aligned... Haiz, tak tau what's wrong sad.gif

ICH10 = SATA2 - 3.0Gbps
ICH11 = SATA3 - 6.0Gbps, found on 6 & 7 series chipset only

Your grey ports are all SATA2 3.0Gbps

Oh, never mind... Found a "solution" to my "problem" laugh.gif Apparently, 550MB/s read and 520MB/s write is for ATTO Disk Benchmark where the test data is compressible doh.gif
