Am tempted to downgrade from S2 to xperia pro. I wanna try a qwerty phone. Any good ? Where can I get from? Any lyn forumer to be exact and cheap?

i dun see that is a downgrade. for me it is quite similar compared, unless ur talking about the screen n stuff exterior. to get what u want depends on what ur looking for, authorized sets or AP? both got pro n con, depend on ur preferences.

In terms of price and the S2 was the flagship from Samsung awhile back and everyone is using it I would prefer ori sets or used sets but ori. What's the pro and con? I always wanna try our qwerty phones as it looks so much easier to type

authorized sets u might as well go to any authorized centres to get ur unit. it is a standard price, unless the shop give u special discounts. pro, less hassle. firmware no problem, no key map issues, rooting and unlocking and reflashing will give u less issues. con, expensive, warranty is one of the issue as well if u are aware. if u are a modder, u prefer authorized sets yet warranty not ur case, a 2nd hand unit is much better. pay less, same quality, warranty not required.

I don't really like to root and play with custom ROM. What's the con about the warranty?

if im not wrong, new authorized sets are rm9xx, without freebies. and 2nd hand should be around rm7xx-8xx.

starting typing with keyboard, very careful with sliders, different interface as SE facelifted the interface..i duno much liaw coz i never use touchscreen hp before, my hp always comes with keyboards or buttons. hahahaha. previous also with x10 mini pro.

how about customization? what type of user are you?

as far as i can say, this phone great for typist, or those who love physical kb and doesn't ready to migrate to touch phone yet. my previous phone also hv physical kb (nokia e75) so i found this phone very attractive.

for those who love customizing his/her phone, this phone is not good, but this phone UI is already nice out of the box.
i see some of my friends using samsung phone, most of them change to custom launcher (e.g. Go Launcher) as soon as the phone come out. isn't true for most sony xperia phone because the UI is already nice.

but yeah, the phone seem like underpowered, ALL sony xperia phone 2011 model (neo, neo V, pro, play etc) are underpowered in fact.

this phone had already good function out of the box. hdmi, exmor m sensor for camera, bravia engine screen, wisepilot(GPS), nice music player, trackid, office suite, facebook intergration etc that make this phone suitable for those who use phone out of box and didn't customize his/her phone.

in summary if you the type of

I. customize, custom player/launcher/app, want to compete with other, push the phone till what it could - dont take this phone.
or
II. use this phone out of the box with minimal changes, type fast with kb, use only for msg, internet, play media. - do take this phone.
