I heard about Sapphire problem that was the reason i went for MSI TwinFrzr iii.

What problem they had? Did their problem occur when they OC?

Mine is mainly BSOD usually when i start the game at higher OC. When i switch it to higher OC after entering game is more stable.

So how you prove your card is faulty to get warranty?

Not OC issues, its about driver i guess. It blank screen when playing games.
i also have issues, but not critical, only crash to black screen 2 times since i bought last September.
AMD always got bad review about their CCC.
BETA 12.11 also damn suck. Improve gaming but improve crashing also. tongue.gif

True, I believe that this is related to the hardware(7870) and driver compatibility issue or either the design of the hardware itself was faulty since I'm using 7970s without any of these issues since Jan this year until now. But I'm seeing the same problem when the time I'm using hd7850 just that not as serious as 7870. it could be AMD pitcairn design flaw or something like that, need to do more study with uncle G to get an answer..

I dont remember most of the 7870 users whose complaining about the issues only on Sapphire hd7870. It happened to all 7870 owners not only specific to Sapphire, you may check forums like guru3d, oc.net etc to get more info about this issue.

I think its about the reference card. Because Sapphire still using reference card.
THIS IS AMD problem. The price, performance, temperature good.
Their only problem, Driver. tongue.gif

I'm disappointed now...Far Cry 3 always crash at startup with 7970 single card or CFx. Does anyone facing similar issue on their HD7xxx series as well especially with Far Cry 3? Using catalyst 12.11 beta8 now with 12.11cap1 sad.gif

^ Thanks for the reply bro...just now re-enabled crossfireX and reset core/mem clock to default solve the problem.

Maybe there's a conflict within these 2 cards and the driver.

How's your FPS in FC3 btw..I'm getting 30+ FPS only at 1080p,ultra setting with 8xMSAA + HBAO. I think CFx is not working yet for this game hmm.gif

Yes bro, its already out. You can purchase it through Steam. In the menu there's co-op and multiplayer so yes we can play multiplayer with Far Cry 3. Graphic is a bit demanding when you set everything on Max..i bet it's due to poor driver optimization. New driver from AMD will surface this week though smile.gif, just cant wait for another performance improvement laugh.gif

rclxms.gif Nice score bro, keep them coming for fun.. 39Fps at 1080p + extreme tessel +8xAA proved that HD7870 is really a powerful card. You can overclock HD7870 and have an equal performance as HD7970...but you need to overvolt it and watch the temps closely smile.gif.

Just increase your 7970 GHz core clock to 1150MHz and Mem clock to 1600MHz using MSI Afterburner of Sapphire Trixx. Then run unigine 3.0 benchmark few times including furmark/kombustor stress test if you like. Set Unigine heaven to extreme tessel and max AA/AF.

I think 1150MHz core clock is achievable on most of the HD7970s out there. If stable I think you can even try 1200MHz core and repeat the process to test stability.
