ok nice score, but I am wondering why did you run it at very low resolution? at least try your benchmark at 1920x1080 bro...HD7970 is more than capable to run any games/benchmarks at 1080p at max image quality.

Very satisfy actually, I gained 7-10FPS on Sleeping Dogs for free. thumbup.gif

Next target should be 1100Mhz. Memory speed untouched, I do not see any increase of performance. wink.gif

Hi bro,

I suggest you to run Unigine benchmark with everything maxed out. Please set AA to 8x, AF to 16x, resolution 1080p correct already and last Tessellation set to Extreme. You may try benching both stock and OC, lets see how far HD7850 can be OC'ed and we ca compare with 7970.

^ Water cooled system..max temp for above session was 47degC for OC. For stock clock I think maybe a little lower around 43degC

Btw, I having some screen tearing/line occur when benchmarking Unigine and gaming. It happens on stock and OC as well.

V-Sync is on, FPS is below 60. Just noticed today when I carefully watch Unigine benchmarking.

Yeah I saw it too since few years ago..I believe its something related to the application itself and not due to our GC or Driver bugs. Anyhow I'll try to run unigine 3.0 on my other rigs using HD5850 and 8800GT. Will update it here tomorrow..

Its a sapphire 7970 dual-x OC ver and not reference one. However I believe sapphire is using reference PCB just that they change the Cooler to Dual-X. I flashed the original OC Bios (950MHz core) to normal Dual-X 7970 (925MHz/1375)..this one:
ATOMBIOSBK-AMD VER015.014.000.004.000000

This one is a normal BIOS not GHz. Yes reference 7970 can be flashed to GHz BIOS...the 7970 I'm using already have GHz BIOS in it. Just flip the switch and I have a 7970 GHz edition biggrin.gif

Does the GHz BIOS give you any overclocking improvement? One of the reason that I don't want to use stock bios is that having hard time to unlock in AB, while early unlocked bios(MSI one) is way more easier to unlock in AB, not to mention I can push more further comparing with stock for some reason.
