I'm using MSI 7870 Twinfrz iii 2GB/OC, i5 3470, 4GB 1600 & SSD with 650W PSU win 7 U

I'm having 2 problems:

When playing NBA 2k12, i got BSOD after 10 minutes in game, average FPS 40-50 max except x4 AA.

Power Limit +18%
Core 1180MHz
Mem 1385MHz
Fan auto
temperature around 60'C
BSOD

Battlefield 3 Ultimate avg 45-55FPS:
After 20mins in game, after got shot while zooming in blood splattering the game freeze, ctrl+alt+del out desktop got the message:
Display Driver has stopped responding & has recovered...
Had to go taskpanel to quite BF3.exe

Voltage Forced Fix 1225mV
Power Limit +20%
Core 1200MHz
Memory 1450MHz
Fan auto
max GPU temp 67'C

Can you guys tell me if the problem is my card or OC or it's game/OS problem?

AMD Audio 7.12.0.7708

Afterburner 9.14.10.0926

MSI HD7870 Twinfrozr iii OC, MSI H77A G43, 4GB Ram 1600, i5 3470 no OC.

For Battlefield i went ahead & used 1218V, +20%, 1200 Core, 1430 Memory. Max temp 70'C. 2nd try i managed to play for an hour no issues. Before this i applied windows fix it thing to fix the update rate based on Display Error msg. But seems Battlefield not pushing the card to max most of the time despite only getting 45fps.

Now going to try NBA 2k12.

Ok, if I understand your issue correctly. You're overclocking your 7870 for gaming, the GPU temperature looks fine to me. Your problem is BSOD while playing NBA2k12 and BF3 freezed during gameplay at specific area.

Could you let us know your driver version and which OC apps you're using to overclock your GPU, is it MSI AB, Asus GPU tweak or something else? It's also recommended to share your CPU specs as well...CPU,RAM oc'ed or not?

Have you tried play those 2 games at stock GPU clock? were BSOD and freezing occurred at stock GPU clock as well?

Just now i tried again on NBA 2k12, very strange it gives BSOD when i'm in the game menu, i don't think the GPU is running even half point of the clock & temp should be normal. Note it gave BSOD in game menu not in game.

Same thing as Euro Truck 2, entered the 1st loading screen gave BSOD.

Later i tried a few things, lowered clock while entering & turn it up inside game, seems ok, then i exit and reenter the game straight using turn up clock no problem tried few times.

Now i'm sure it's not due to temp problem so i can't figure out what is the cause.

Any suggestion to get good stress test? Current max temp on GPU is 73'c.

Just wondering how much clock you guys managed to set for 7870 Twinfrzr iii?

I heard about Sapphire problem that was the reason i went for MSI TwinFrzr iii.

What problem they had? Did their problem occur when they OC?

Mine is mainly BSOD usually when i start the game at higher OC. When i switch it to higher OC after entering game is more stable.

So how you prove your card is faulty to get warranty?

Yeap, i heard that issues also. At Hardware QA 2 people got problem with sapphire 7870. Ask for warranty.
