If PC auto shutdown during 3dmark11 test(overclocked 1125/1575), What does it mean? Temps are fine. Volt 1.175 (stock). Last time can pass the test but now can't lol

Experience that too with fur mark. Most of the time over clock fail, not enough voltage
If I bump it higher than no issues

Oh I see, if I increase the voltage higher maybe temps will be very high cause using stock cooler. doh.gif

bump it up and see whether it still crashes
if not then its confirm you need more voltage

Also i notice memory overclocking gives more issue than speed clocking

Flashed my normal 7970 to 7970 GHz bios
so these are the best clocks in CCC overdrive w/o Afterburner.

* i don't have data for max clocks on stock bios though

Are you using the cc12.7 driver?
How is the new bios performance compared with the asus version

Wanted to flash this ghz bios but requires 12.7, for now skyrim has issues with 12.7beta

Dunno how to compare this bios against others but i'm more interested on the max clocks it could yield which i'd try it later.

It's 12.7 beta but i dont play Skyrim anymore since the enemies keep beating me without reason lol.

yeah 1.326v is pretty high for such clocks.
It fluctuates randomly on every run.
sometimes i got lower VDDC down to 1.217v on load sometimes shot up to 1.326v.
that's how the LLC of the 7970 GHz bios works. Huge vdrop. sad.gif

Aduh... Only can achieve 1159/ 1375/ 1.174v... Increasing the memory will reduce 3Dmark 11 score... Will flash again to Ghz and see if any improvement... Hehe...

According to OCN senior member, he pm me this:
QUOTE
look at the back ports on your card, when you look online at other cards the back ports usually have to be the same or similar as well as the vrm design in order for the bios to work, ex say your card has a dvi a hdmi and a mini hdmi, and the next card has two dvi's only in 99% cases the bios flash wont work, find one that looks similar to your card.

Added on July 23, 2012, 10:58 pmMeh! I didn't save my old bios. Now with bios from net, I can't flash to Ghz. Luckily owikh84 attached the bios at AMD thread. And it work. Will doing some benchies now.

Added on July 24, 2012, 12:09 amWith Ghz bios, can push up to 1205/ 1500/ 1162mv and achieve P9434 for 3dMark11. CPU at stock setting. Temp never reach 80c with fan speed 50%. This flashing really benefit me. Enough for tonight, gnite!

P/s: Lazy for screenshot as I online from my lappy. Will attach screenie for final stable oc'ing.
