guys,

i just root my note phone, using this link method, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
(by following chapter 1.3 in post number because my SGN not root yet before and it is in LA1)

and i got 2 question now,
1. as you see at the image below, is "Baseband version" and "Build number" change after root? (as i not remember
what is the exact number before i root sweat.gif )

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

2. and why i cant upgtade the latest version of Android (2.3.6)
i already go to Software Update ---- Update, but it states that "No update available" sweat.gif

Kindly help newbies here, (first time root) blush.gif

Below shows my screen test result from *#0*#:

touch test:

pen test:

I wanted to confirm three things:

1) can your touch test touch the edge of the box? mine only managed to touch little bit on the left side.

2) for my test, drawing straight/slightly curvy line in touch test did'nt look smooth and feel rough. does the same applies to yours?

3) can your galaxy note's pen test touch the bottom right? mine looks like the sensor below the screen got slightly misaligned.

hope you guys can provide yours for my reference. thanks!

Franc root will not change your baseband and firmware.
LA1 is already latest msian build so you will not be able to update further yet
Strange you say your is la1 but your screenshot show is kj1?

depends on what rom actually, europe one is full wipe, german LA4 isnt, but better do a backup before doing a rom flash cos some of the rom, like rocketrom requires full wipe, else will go into bootloop

backup ur apps and data using titanium backup, rom backup backs up everything but stays within that rom only

good luck in flashing the rom tongue.gif

is this like HDMI cable for note? y looks like its got 2-input?
user posted image

Sorry for late reply. The HDMI cable used is a normal HDMI cable used for your LCD TV. Nothing special on the HDMI cable itself. The Samsung mini USB to HDMI adapter makes it look complicated.

The reason why it looks like there's 2 input is because one is from Note's mini USB and the other is power input. You cannot get any image displayed on the TV if there is no power input.

You can flash it in any rom. Abyss is one of the better kernels with frequent updates. Another one is FM but his updates not so frequent
