Why not start with studying FSM's recommended global equity funds?

I personally like OSK-UOB Global Equity Yield Fund

Ermm...I'm thinking to invest in Manulife Global Resources.

This fund currently is under-priced, probably is a good timing to enter.

But apparently none of you purchased this fund izzit? Too volatile?? hmm.gif

Bro Pink - i signed up for FSM ever since they started online (ie. looooooong time ago - user number 200+) on the info from my friend close to OSK.
However.. <sheepish look>.. never did any transactions at all hehe.. until tomorrow biggrin.gif
Saw the "transfer in" form and heck, time to toe-in to FSM lor.
"Tor tor ji kau" (Cant-to-knees for "pls be kind to me" tongue.gif)

The other camp's gold status? yeah, free switching for x times per year and some free insurances and magazines + a bit more data.
I prefer more discount / lowered costs on transactions - thus for the other camp, i bit the bullet & joined the dark side lor.

Now toe-ing in as a commoner into FSM since i saw the silver & gold transaction discount tongue.gif, 1st to consolidate non-other camp's funds into FSM.
I'm still dizzy on the inter & intra fund SWITCHING and whatnot CONTRA.
Dropped FSM a line with some pointed Qs, asking for a matrix or something to refer to (easy mar).

Inter switching is switching between funds of the different fund manager. Switching into a fund is not free-of-charge and investors have to pay for redemption fees, if there are any applicable to the switch sell fund, as well as the sales charge imposed on the switch buy fund.
It's basically a sell, and buy.

On another topic, the payment method if you are not CIMB or HLB has room for improvement.

Yeah, it looks like that, thus so far, it'll cost me additional pretty pennies to manage between Equities and Bond funds allocation (SWITCHING) VS what i've going with the other camp tongue.gif

Anyhow, time for me to poke a real person in FSM and ask pointed Qs - coz, if i can't settle on ONE fund house with good enough Equity Funds + good enough Bond Funds, doing inter-fund long-term SWITCHING will kill my pocket faster than the other camp's 1.5%+/- or 2.8%+/- one time loading cost. cry.gif

Eh? Pains with non CIMB or HLB payments? argh.. looks like i've to start leaving $ in my CIMB heheh.
Can share your experiences on these pains ar? MBB? SCB? PB? to FSM

You basically have to bank-in (internet banking/cheque/atm) to Maybank, and then email/fax the deposit slip details, plus your account and purchase order details.

An alternative to ringing, you can just click on that thing by the right-hand side (working hours) and online-chat. Got my answers pretty quickly that way.

Heheh - i want it in writing thus i can go like "see see - evidence your representative said..."
Thus, i think i'll call and then email them on what i understood to get their reply to clarify i understood them right or not and they clarify further in writing tongue.gif
Yes yes - i'm a bit dodgy that way blush.gif

Ah - danke.
Old style coz they can't trace who the fish throw $ at them/their a/c easily.

As long as FSM allows online transfer and PDF/screenshots, i'm good. Dealt with weirder requirements like "must pay via counter, cannot online - even though we accept cheques via counter" kaka for some other stuff before, thus this is comparatively painfree laugh.gif

Diff ppl, diff expectations, diff risk appetite
