You dont mirror but use upstairs ATV3 as extended display. So your Macmini downstairs can be used for other things.

Control the macmini using Iphone or Ipad from upstairs via splashtop.

Like i said ATV3 can only play 5.1 channel sound in DD/TDS if you encoded the movie sound in AC3 5.1, if you straight away download from torrent and stream(extended display/mirror) to ATV3 it will play only 3.1.

Ok that probably complicated. If anyone has Iphone/ipad, he/she can just airplay xbmc installed in the the idevice and airplay directly to the appleTV

Yes, you can the set the resolution with ATV3, airplay iphone ipad and mac or even itunes from window pc.

But someone in Entertainment Thread has confirmed that those Himedia player can airplay too. That's even better than jailbroken ATV3. You may want to check it out before you buy ATV3 especially if you want to watch chinese shows

i thought want to install plexconnect on my windows desktop that always on too then connect to the ATV3 but so many things to install and download.
Too many cumbersome steps.

I definitely dont want to do it on the macbook air coz im not going to on the mba 24/7.

No additional software needed, anything playing on your idevice and mac will be displaying on the TV (mirror & extended)

No streaming international TV on ATV3 (Netflix & Hulu are paid services)

How much you want to spend just to watch some not up to date movies on netflix and no so latest series on hulu plus?

And you need some card seller that able you to pay this services for you to access.

In the end it is still ILLEGAL for non US Resident as stated in the TOS of Netflix/Hulu/ Apple too (creating fake Apple ID)

you cant even get 1080p (super hd) for netflix coz it link to your ISP regardless what DNS you use. Unless u stay in USA.

This allow me to watch crackle, to setup netflix, huluplus and other xxx site that malaysia blocked.

Only glitch cannot go to Amazon

Since i only use ebay and i care less to pay for netflix and hulu+ after the trial ended coz all their contents are outdated compare to XBMC, so all free and good now. Crackle is good too but not on ATV3 but airplay from idevice.
