Added on February 1, 2012, 4:30 pmaceedburn,

I have all my movie in User/My user Name/Movies.

Can I have my imac to share this folder directly (without copying to other folder) and share it to XBMC?
*
Sure, just need to enable file sharing and specify which folders you want to share.

Ok, now, go to XBMC, videos, files. Add videos, select Browse, scroll down for ZeroConfig browser, add your ip address using:

afp://youripaddress .. it should let you add the path.

On mine, my shared Mac machine is listed without me specifying the afp://ipaddress manually..

Have a static ip address assigned to your imac. This can be done in your router.

You have the same problem like me?
How to fixed the IP with unifi router aaaaa?  sweat.gif
*
Nope, my server has a fixed ip. I'm no longer using my tm provided router. Do you have access to the router? If yes, check under network and see if you can have a static ip address there. Otherwise, just change your imac ip from dhcp to static (on your imac setting that it)..

Eh static ip, can i just set it at my imac?
*
Yes for sure, just remember to use the same subnet ip address. Best is to have an ip address not in the range that set in dhcp.

Apa punye field engineer daa, unifi router setting is nothing lah, buat malu engineer je .. haha.. (btw, am engineer by qualification but stuck in software development maintaining an ERP system).

For the static IP, better to assign it to lower IP address .. have no idea how that DHCP with manual address work, I believe it will update router's database so the next machine connecting won't get the same IP address as your iMac .. probably .. no idea .. smile.gif

XBMC setting? No idea bro, is there anything within XBMC that will reset it? Resetting the apple tv won't help since XBMC is the one that created the playlist. Probably ssh into your appletv and find the playlist file .. should've within the XBMC directory.

Probably clearing up the folder will do .. but you need to put in all the settings..

apple tv comes only with HDMI output. If there is hdmi-to-vga converter, you might be able to.. but haven't tested this myself, so, no idea really.

Added on March 29, 2012, 7:02 amand oh .. the passive converter won't work, so, those hdmi-to-vga little box might not work.

Why do you need Windows? TinyUmbrella is available for Mac too.

Q: How do I jailbreak an older version?
A: This process will let you install/jailbreak any version of the ATV2 software that's either a) still being signed by Apple or b) that you have SHSH blobs for.
update iTunes to the latest version
save your SHSH blobs if you haven't yet
download the iOS firmware file
if the version you want to install isn't being signed by Apple (they typically only sign the latest version and sometimes one previous version), open Tiny Umbrella and start the TSS server (assumes you have SHSH blobs for the version you're installing)
get Seas0npass and follow the guide EXCEPT Option-click (Right-click in Windows) the "Create IPSW" button to select an older iOS firmware file or you'll be upgraded to the most recent iOS version, also remember to only plugin the microUSB cable (not the power cable)
prevent updates from crashing XBMC
if you run into problems, review the troubleshooting tips and try to jailbreak again
Seas0npass may not change the ATV menu. You'll need to ssh to your ATV2 (using Putty under Windows, or Terminal on the Mac, see below) to verify it's been jailbroken and to load additional software, e.g. wget, XBMC, nitoTV (install info below), etc. Alternatively, you can use Greenpois0n (video tutorial) or Pwnagetool.

As long as it is Apple TV 2nd Gen and the OS is 4.4.4, I believe you can fire up TinyUmbrella, save the SHSH blobs, and then just follow the instruction above. So .. do not upgrade to later version first before saving the SHSH bloobs.
