QUOTE(Sinque @ Jun 28 2012, 12:59 AM) Hi there mate, nice to see a familiar face from my kvpug days Hi buddy. The previous KVPUG forum was so darn addictive in those days, huh? Have we met at any of our meets previously?Would like to know what vpn service you subscribe to for your atv3 coz I'm planning to get one Thanks Anyway, I use tunlr VPN. It's free and Netflix works beautifully. Netflix gives you a 1 month free trial and after that it's only usd7.99 per month which is very affordable IMO. |

QUOTE(Sinque @ Jul 1 2012, 01:15 AM) It was very addictive & we did meet at one of the events at Mont Kiara where i bought one of your instrumental CDs. Thanks for the VPN info. I'll drop by machines when they stock it and get the apple tv. In the mean time i'll look into the vpn service first Oh yes, that was about 10 years ago. Good luck with Netflix! |

Tunlr no longer supports Netflix. It has been known for almost a week. They still support Hulu plus, pandora and other streaming sites. If you still want to use Netflix in Malaysia, you have to subscribe to a VPN service like unlock-us, strong VPN, etc. come on guys, everything cannot be free forever, right? And nothing that is free will last forever either. Start those credit cards rolling, now!

QUOTE(mhswong @ Oct 1 2012, 07:47 PM) Dude, i was referring to Hulu Plus. Can't watch it on apple tv with tunlr too. If u check tunlr website, apple tv support has been removed Apple TV Support is not dropped by tunlr, only netflix support has been dropped. Hulu Plus still works on Apple TV.http://tunlr.net/faq/ |

QUOTE(mhswong @ Oct 2 2012, 11:57 AM) I'm unable to utilize it any more on apple tv though it works fine with mac and ipad. if you go to the tunlr website under get started - there is no get started with apple tv anymore... funny... hmm..that's weird. Maybe then we have to start looking into the paid VPN options now if we still want to use netflix or hulu plus here in malaysia. i heard unblock-us or strongvpn is quite good but i haven't tried it personally yet. |

yep, that's the ATV1. Silver box.
Added on October 10, 2012, 10:02 amGuys, just discovered a replacement for tunlr dns that has now dissapointed many many people. I too was really disheartened and since i paid for netflix, i knew i had to find something else so that my entertainment needs would not be shattered. The answer to this is proxydns.co Tried it since yesterday and works like a charm on netflix and all other geo-blocked content as well. It's free! Change your DNS to 74.207.242.213 and voila! Enjoy and sharing is caring, so here you go! This post has been edited by aceedburn: Oct 10 2012, 10:02 AM |

Btw, how's your netflix streaming quality and what's your broadband speed? |

QUOTE(Irzani @ Oct 20 2012, 09:59 PM) I'm quite confused ... got Apple TV version 3 and another one Apple TV 2 (Australia, cannot found in Malaysia) .. how do I differentiate it? which one is the latest version? apple tv 2 is the older version, the newer version is apple tv3. the ones sold in all apple stores everywhere is only apple tv 3. there is no more apple tv 2 for sale, unless from second hand vendors. both looks the same, but apple tv 3 is full hd 1080p. not much difference other than that.Malaysia Apple store is what version? |

QUOTE(mcken @ Oct 31 2012, 09:58 AM) Anyone notice after changing the DNS in the wifi modem router to the free dns ip, web browsing is crawling from my mac. The thumbnail and pics on fb page is not loading. Anyone is experiencing this and is there any workaround? Thanks!! don't change the dns in your router, it is never advisable to do that. change the dns in your device, i.e. apple tv, ipad, iphone, pc, etc.free dns will definitely throttle your usual browsing speed. |

QUOTE(azlalariffin @ Nov 22 2012, 12:25 PM) Guys... It's very easy mate. Since u already have a Netflix subscription and a VPN, just login to Netflix on your atv3 and use your bolehvpn DNS address. You can change your dns address in Apple TV network settings. Switch to manual dns and key in your VPN dns. Also, remember to change your tunes store setting to United States, otherwise Netflix will not be activated.Am new here, and would like to get some advice from you sifus.. I am planning to buy an apple tv3. But I have no idea on how to set it up... I currently have bolehVPN and registered to netflix.. This works fine with my macbook. Can i use the above for the atv3? Can someone help me how to setup the atv3 pls.. many thanks.. |

You don't need to jailbreak to watch Netflix on Apple TV. You just need a Netflix subscription, at least 5MB broadband connection and a VPN. and yes, I'm using a Malaysian American Express card for Netflix subscription. To enable Netflix, you need to set iTunes Store to United States on Apple TV. Works on ATV2 and 3.

QUOTE(crow190569 @ Jan 11 2013, 09:53 AM) Hey Guys, What DNS are you using on your Apple TV? Use 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 which is google DNS. That might solve your problem. You can change your DNS in your Apple TV network settings. Probably the movie servers are not compatible with maxis DNS.Need some advise i was previously using my jailbroken APTV2 with Uniifi and it was working fine. But recently i changed to Maxis Fibre and i keep getting this message on "Script failed! : addon.py" on certain addons. I am not very tech savy and got someone to help me jailbreak my unit. Can anyone recomend a simple solution please. |
