Yeah, of course u can, but it would be like buying an iPhone and only using the camera functions.

It's still affordable.
If u compare iPhone to this, the price is a huge difference.
What apple tv does is amazing, looking at how small the product is

Yes. Netflix is only for US, Canada, South America (not sure), UK and some EU country only.

this sums things up pretty well -

Wow, not sure what to make of all this rationalization of illegal behavior here. Does it matter if the price seems too high? No. Are the businesses trying to make money? Yes. Are the businesses doing anything illegal? No. Is it illegal to steal? Yes.

I think a lot of people think it's OK to steal movies and music because of some contrived rationalization. But I wonder what those same people would think or feel if their work or money was stolen from them using the same rationalization. And teaching children that stealing is OK so long as it's a large faceless corporation seems downright chilling to me.

No matter what post-modern feel-good bull-crap teachings say, right is right and wrong is wrong.

but on that note, netflix used to be a great source for copyrighted contents but they've been lacking lately and the price hike did it for me.

prime > netflix.

Amazon Prime that it .. Been using Netflix for more than half a year now and I would say that it is amazing .. at least it keeps my son busy with all the Barneys, Thomas, Power Ranges, and the likes .. and I can still watch the old TopGear releases .. if you're subscribing Netflix for up-to-date TV shows or movies, than you've chosen the wrong content provider.

Yup. Correct. I normally catch up old series once a while.
Also Netflix on itunes can pay using Itunes gift card. Now the rate is very cheap. (around 1USD = RM2.8 or lower).
I terminated by usual Netflix account and use New netflix account on AppleTV.

But 1 thing I found out is that the Netflix video quality on AppleTV is slightly worse than Netflix on Roku2 XS. Somehow it is hard for AppleTV Netflix to stream at HD reso.
Hopefully either Apple or Netflix can fix it.

i did originally mention how netflix is good for older content but somehow edited it because it sounded overly cynical :x

to those with atv3, are you guys having any issues with streaming content on it? specifically with the service mentioned above :P

you're streaming legitimate movie, no time consuming for download (provide that you have good internet speed)
