hi everyone, it's my 1st time coming into this thread.. icon_question.gif
hope to get advice for the problems I'm facing my manual waja 4g18...

1st, the headlamp is really terrible, tried to adjust the height and left/right of the headlamp but light density is terrible.
almost every shop i asked will ask me to put in HID. But isn't it illegal?

2nd is the horrible noise when driving in highway.
Most of the highway in selangor will giv me loud roar when driving around 90-130km/h.
Is it my set of tires not quiet enough or the moving air from outside?
Or the roar from the engine?

Thanks sifus in advance.. notworthy.gif

HID is the best upgrade, i changed to rm200 halogen bulbs yet still its not bright enough compare to HID, its illegal. its so far so good for me haven encounter any problems for 2 years or more already. best if u have more budget go for HID retrofit.

the horrible noise u need to identify urself or someone with experience help to listen while in ur car, tires could be the main problem especially when they dont have much thread left.

Oh ic... I've read somewhere, that our lamps (or is it lens) reduce a lot of the intensity of the bulb rite?
or is there any bulbs that are worth to change to? Maybe better than some capalang bulbs?
A properly alligned headlight will be alright for night drive?
Cause budget is a constraint to me.

Hmm, still got threads on the tires...
Will need to ask someone experienced to listen i guess...

Thanks for your reply ya.. thumbup.gif

For the road noise, might be the tires. What tires are you using? When i first bought my car, it came with expired tires and God was the sound aweful. After i replaced it the noise got alot better.

About the lights, I would also recommend HIDs. Been using it for quite a couple of months so far but i think might be my luck since i haven't passed through any JPJ roadblocks yet laugh.gif If your budget allows, get the Waja CPS headlights with HID's as stock. Can adjust the height from inside the car samore laugh.gif or around 600~800 you can get a proper retrofit job done as i've seen it being done before by csb-pro but it is kinda pricy. But for the money you pay, you get a perfect beam with a perfect cutoff and no glare to oncoming cars thumbup.gif

Just bought the LM semi-synth MOS2 10w40 oil. Gonna get it changed on Tuesday. Hopefully able to reduce FC as well tongue.gif laugh.gif

btw, so nobody going to the race? sad.gif

haha let us know ur budget then we can advice you accrordingly, go for comfort tires, they generate the least noise, i would go for michellin. rm 200 halogen bulbs can say is at the top line halogen bulbs dy.

if i were given RM200 for my headlamp, i will go for HID over halogen. Get a 4300K HID, you get the brightness you want, you won't blind opposite drivers badly, and those roadblocks set up by penguins won't really kacau you. I've read from somewhere, heard that the allowed colour temperature for Malaysia is below 5000K. icon_rolleyes.gif

What about the Yokohama DB series? Those are specially made to reduce tire noise laugh.gif

If you want balanced of grip, noise and price, can try the Hankook Ventus V12. Using it on my own ride. Pretty good grip thumbup.gif

Yeap, using 4300k HIDs as well. If you're using the stock Proton CPS version HID lights it should be perfectly legal since it was developed by Proton afterall.

Added on January 30, 2012, 1:17 amLast time someone mentioned that if engine oil leaking do not use FS oil. What's the reason actually? Despite of having to refill it pretty often as FS oil is pricey.

If HID density is bad, it might be the reflector inside the reflective lens had fade off. With this situation you wont be able to solve anything except replace the headlamp or retrofit another new projector.

want to ask about car battery.
My waja battery always flat after 12-14 months (for last 4 years+). doesn't matter if I put wet or maintainence free or what brand. It just can tahan for 12-14 months and just have another flat battery last night. Is this normal timespan for 4G18 Auto (I dont have ICE or HID or others) ??? or I have something wrong with my car....

I think its the owner issue hahahaha laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Well MF batteries wont last... normally 2 years it will dry up. Use wet batteries, buy Panasonic original batteries. Wet cells need proper maintenance however if good maintenance on the wet cells batt, it might can last up to 7 or even 9 years.

Wet cells maintenance.

Check battery fluid level every 2 weeks or Twice a month. Top up the battery water when nessesary. Use Good battery Water where u can purchase from trusted seller at Old Klang Road 4x4 shop or buy from Eneos. dont get cheap battery water.

Add 10-20ml of diluted 50/50 Sulfuric acid to each cells every year or buy the pills type at ACE hardware.

done...

for those looking for rims.. i would suggest this~
http://www.mudah.my/Rim+YOKOHAMA+ADVAN+AVS...ar-13456975.htm
17" btw.. it maybe not that nice the design.. but its light weight.. the spokes are design hollow inside to lighten it.. the offset is good also if upgrade to 2 pots brakes~

contaminated battery water often kills the battery. Hard to judge which battery water is genuine however i used my own made pure distilled water + 3ml of sulfarid acid every liter. Even sulfarid acid also mixed with water and make sure it is distilled water not mineral.

Using light weight rim is important for improve acceleration and fuel comsumption right?

Want to ask other than expensive Japan rims, any other brand are light weight and strong ?

Most of the replica rims are heavy right? Are replica rims reliable in terms of strength?
