Hey guys, need some help here. i recently bought a 2005 waja, 4g18p engine. its quite ok, but there is a few problems that i would like to share and see if anyone knows what can i do about it.
1. noise at the front when going thru bumps. could it be absorbers?
check your absorbers, absorber link and bushes; arm and the arb bushes.
2. there is a soft hissing when i make tight right turns, like u turn.
replace the power steering fluid. sp3 / proton atf fluid is a fine replacement. for better result, you could add nasa atf. btw, it was normal for all waja
to have this hissing sound when the steering is turned.
3. after being stationary for some time, gear at P and handbrakes on, there is this sound (like tikus) coming from the back of the car. it will be there for like 1 sec +, gone, and back again after awhile.
could be loose fuel tank bracket or rear arm problem. in some case, caliper /uneven rear disc. check out the seat zippers too. my bet was the arm thou
4. window controls at all doors are hard to press.
i never face this problem with my previous waja but it could be caused by hardened plastic / rubber material. try using those lubrication at all door glass corner. it works on my friend's car.
5. loud engine noise. could be because previous owner speed alot? will using better engine oil helps?
if it was the cabin sound intrusion, it has nothing to do with engine oil. how long it had been since the last time you replace the
engine mounting? there are 4 to be replace at once.
good engine oil is important for smoother engine operation but nothing beat a proton new engine mounting.
Any suggestions on what i can do?
btw, those reply are from a guy which is no longer own a waja. just passing by in this thread. may not the exact answer1. noise at the front when going thru bumps. could it be absorbers?
