Read the bill carefully. It is usually 2 months once for "normal" reading and inbetween "estimate" reading. I got a bill for 72days which is more than 2 months also 700kwh.
Still for your case 700kwh for 2 months is very high. Something is very wrong with the meter otherwise if shoult be: You forgot to off aircond? You did not close the door of your fridge properly and the fridge is running 24 hrs or the door did not seal properly airtight?
You can do a check to the meter. You shut off all electric power to your house before you both go to work, record the meter reading, switch on a lamp or few items like fans with total 200watt. When you come home after 10 hrs the meter should increase by 2kwhr. Get one watt meter to measure the wattage of these things like fans to be on the accurate side.
Yeah I am trying to do all that soon. Still for your case 700kwh for 2 months is very high. Something is very wrong with the meter otherwise if shoult be: You forgot to off aircond? I tried shutting down everything and the meter didn't move so i assume it's not leaking somewhere. I also measure the meter when no one at home(only fridge and routers are on) and it moves about 1-2 kwh (9-10 hours) which I think is acceptable.
Yesterday I recorded it used 18kwh just in one night, I don't even on my aircon (my housemate was using his).
