Currently we have a TP Link MR3420 v1.2. Umobile is too horrible and we need to upgrade to Maxis LTE. Can this router support the Maxis LTE Dongle? Is there a better Dongle? What is the best implementation to get LTE into our office network?
I have TL-MR3420 v1 and use with Huawei E398 LTE. No issue at all.
Oh yeah... agree with you, umobile not reliable right now after more user using it.. especially, from 9am - 10pm.

eh so if i subcribe sim card only = no contract for that plan ? thx for the answer and sugestion ^^ well not all Penang is covered with 4g yet already check coverage .... sadly my place didnt get it yet
Maxis sim only have no contract.
Even your area not have 4G yet, sooner or later it will be upgraded. The idea is to buy 4G modem now which still can use with 3G. When 4G available, you no need to buy new modem already. Isn't that will save your money in long term.
How do we know the Maxis SIM we have is LTE enabled ?
donno, even maxis staff also donno... they also need to call someone to verified.... so far what i know, new maxis microsim and nanosim should lte enabled. I use microsim too.... after change at centrem when i show them minisim cannot use with lte.
the best way is to get nanosim, tell maxis you want to use with ip5....
hi.... if i using maxis mifi modem, but i'm using a desktop without wifi can i use the modem via usb for my desktop to connect to internet?????? thanks....
Maxis 21Mbps MiFi Modem support usb, just install software come inside the modem.
I guess both of you inserted sim that is cut into nano/micro sim rite? U can break the pin when pulling the sim out even it's with adapter. I have a trick for using trimmed nano/micro sim in adapter, I use a piece of long flexible plastic, insert the plastic first then only insert the sim, pull out the plastic afterward. For removing sim from modem, first insert the plastic piece beneath the sim, pull the sim out while pushing the plastic in a opposite direction. That way we can use trimmed sim without breaking the pin.
The modem used by my brother when he went abroad... keep changing the simcard there...
normally just use masking tape to stick both simcard and adapter can do the trick too... (not normal sellotape).. even now i use this method for my maxis microsim... masking tape harder and have smooth un-sticky side, easy to put and take out.
Yea I thought of that too but i think tape is not hard enough to hold the entire sim 100% flat because the pins in the modem will push the micro/nano up thus making an up and down gap between the micro/nano & the trimmed out part.
As in this picture, if the micro/nano part is pushed up by the pins, the part where the red line is can hook up with the pins & break the pins when you pull the sim out.

Use adapter made from the punched simcard, so the thickness also same as microsim. use sharp knife to remove any bend or excess... i never use any other adapter or adapter come with the puncher... the thickness is different.
