originally din wanna consider mifi... but looks like it might be the easier option for me. so need to ask sifu here (coz i dun have any mifi experience):
* can i set the dns settings on the mifi -- i prefer to use openDNS & googleDNS. i know for PC can set this on the PC, but some other device includes smartphone. * can we connect the mifi to wall socket and leave it running 24-7? or better to get 3g wifi router instead? |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Mar 10 2014, 10:56 AM) originally din wanna consider mifi... but looks like it might be the easier option for me. so need to ask sifu here (coz i dun have any mifi experience): *1 cant, most Huawei mifi i ever used dont have such settings, you can set custom DNS on your phone though, edit the wifi entry and tick advanced settings.* can i set the dns settings on the mifi -- i prefer to use openDNS & googleDNS. i know for PC can set this on the PC, but some other device includes smartphone. * can we connect the mifi to wall socket and leave it running 24-7? or better to get 3g wifi router instead? *2 i'd connect to my PC instead, you dont want your expensive Mifi struck by lightning, do you? when mifi operating it emit heats, 3G mifi more hotter than LTE mifi but depends on model and network mode. Mifi's wireless range is very short, if you want to have better coverage and more advanced setting to tweak, get 3/4G router. |

and just found out this mifi actually require battery even if u plugged in the adapter. im just thinking to pull battery out when downloading for long hours because i just scared the heat will damage the battery. just hope the battery will last at least 2 years with heated everyday. lol |
