anyway i called zte malaysia's careline and they said there is no way to change the sim tray alone. they have to replace the whole board. might as well buy a new one. sigh....

What is your ISP, ask your telco give you unlock code.
Or you can update the 5331 firmware, but it's risky as you could brick it if you flashed the wrong firmware.

I got the same problem you. I plugged one SIM and SIM sangkut. I korek and now the E355 can't detect any SIM card anymore.

Same like my E355, now good as wifi AP only... 3G modem no function already. simcard pin all broken and cannot use...

have you try those phone shop ? may be they could help you to fix the sim pin & slot

my hobby is fixing a phone, i have some equipment... can't fix already, the connection on the board already peel off when my brother try to fix it.



I will keep this for sparepart, the lower board still can be used.

Actually you no need to change the SIM module

Just apply solder to extend the broken pin. I fixed a few E355 for my customer this way

that what my brother do but still not detect sim.. so I try to fix it... too late to fix.

I have another old modem, already kaput... maybe can try to take that one sim pin and put on the E355.

My huawei E355 , some time once in a while it will receive 2g signals, can i know how to make it forcefully receives 3g/HSDPA

it wont performs any extra hard because you didnt tweak the TX or RX power,. u just force to 3G WCDMA only,.

u not able to tweak it,. because it is not that easy for portawifi device as they are wireless router itself
