Spray paint with dark color? How about lacquer?

My door are stained, not paint. Stain will still see the wood grain. The first color layer is spray but final coating if not mistaken the lacquer with normal brush. I don't see uneven brush line.

And what hinge do they provide? normal local? China? or bearing hinge? All made closing & opening feel difference.

Below some of the photo of my house door.

1 and 3 is the same door, difference staining, some call it lacquer painting.

That is standard door, with difference grade wood only. Forgot what grade, could be Nyatok or maybe similar range. Is about RM 350+- for door only.

Lock is Ikaros 4461, Think is about RM 90 +- http://www.intrends.com.my/products/main.php?g2_itemId=48

Installation is +-100 (per door) if i recall correctly.

Staining the door is as expensive as the door it self. If not mistaken is about RM 300+- per door for single leaf.

Hinge and other accessories add up to about RM 50+- per single leaf door.

No lah, Why put all steel door inside the house? feel very "cold". Wood door is really nice.

My left neighbor is renovating now, I saw she have some old wood door, is so dam nice, the grain is superb, and color are very even. We don't get this kind of wood now.

Thank you.

The door you use, is it engineer door? It have its advantage, it won't shrink or expand much compare to Wooden door.

I don't use security door, I use normal grill door for the rear. Now the grill do much nicer door compare to the old days. The "Door in Door" I have also not bad.

Solid timber doors can be as good as security doors dude. Tried carrying one nyatoh solid timber door, it's damn heavy and very difficult to lift off the ground by one person.

But of course the heavier the door, the more you need good hinges to support the weight. Sturdy solid locks (deadbolt / half-deadbolt / mortise) all play an integral part in ensuring that no one gets through your door.

It's almost like pretending your home is a castle, accept the door ain't a drawbridge and there is no moat in front. Hahahahaha....

I m using nyatoh solid timber door for the front door. It is really solid but not that heavy lah. smile.gif recently take down for some minor repair and a lacquer paint after more than 10yrs. 1 person still can carry. flex.gif

I need to put 4pcs high quality big hinges. And don't forget a solid door frame too.

It felt heavy to me... The guys at the shop allowed me to try carrying 2 types of solid timber doors.

One wasn't very heavy and the other was hard to lift. If I remember correctly one door cost RM300+ and the other was about RM600. Maybe I got the material wrong?

At that time, cost rm300+ if not mistaken. When you bang the nyatoh door, it create loud sound and the force is strong.

And after that longtime, it didn't expand much even been splash with water. If normal wood, you cannot close it anymore.
