Just went to see Prius c on a roadshow. The dashboard design and interior feeling.... Turn me off. ~sigh~

I stop owning a toyota when the toyota trainer tell me Honda is better but then he stress since you working for toyota pandai pandai twist and turn laa ( this is refering to vvti vs vtec engine) when i heard that from his mouth i was like oh.......sheeeeet...... The toyota salesman is all crap one dammit.... The trainer also said you want good car go buy Lexus

I know the Honda Hybrid is not really true hybrid(shhh...the honda fans will be very angry if they here this), but in Bolehland, technology comes second whereas "look" is more important.

Latio has got the most comfort with soft material dashboard yet not many people buy it.  Yet I see so many complaint bout the comfort of the Prius C!

I think it is undisputed who has the better hybrid technology so no point arguing over that anymore.  With the launch of the Jazz Hybrid in Malaysia and the pricing which favors more towards the Prius C, I can see the Prius C gaining more sales now.

People cancel the booking of Jazz Hybrid due to the disappointment of the price.  Honda salesman predict around Rm85k but end up Rm94+ so a lot of disappointment.

After test drive, can provide a detail review of your test drive?

So far ive been reading good reviews online..none being over critical on the interior at all.makes me wonder are we malaysians a class above everyone else or what?

Got my car today. I am not an auto expert though, so can only compare it to my civic (current gen) that I trade in for this.

Sound insulation: Excellent, much quieter than civic.

Dashboard display: Not very used to the lack of rpm meter, but the digital speed display is the same as civic, with higher readability due to the black background. The colorful LCD display while beautiful, I dun think would be used frequently in the long run unless you are very concerned of fuel consumption. Overall satisfactory.

Engine and brake noise: Acceleration is smooth, slightly slower than civic, but lack of engine noise makes it hard to tell how fast you are going. Braking noise is like many have said, slightly disturbing, like flying a airplane.

Front seat space: The front car cabin feels higher than civic, while width slightly narrower.

Keyless entry and engine start/stop system: Excellent, really like it.

Cornering: Very good, since turning radius is only 4.8.

Hah, the trade in price of Civic is so high (75k) that I figure it is in high demand. Main reason for the change is that
(1) I prefer a smaller car, easier to park and maneuver, and I drive alone most of the time,
(2) my civic at 6th year old (bought at april 2006, one of the first on the road I guess) has started to show sign of wear and tear, suspension is giving up, rubber trim are fading, my vkool is getting blurrer day by day, cloth cover stay dirty no matter how u wash it.... so time for a change before something bigger pops up.
(3) the better accessories, keyless entry, japan built quality and 7 air bags of prius c kinds of make it feel like an upgrade for single driver like me.

Actually it is only more quiet if you ignore the braking sound, it is always there haunting you....

Ehk, seriously? I thought the sound proofing and the dashboard are pretty good to me when I was test driving. As for the cabin, I would say it's just nice for a compact car - not too small, not too big.

Your bro in law comparing with Merz or something big ah? Or I guess different people have different opinion about it

Thanks for you advise.  Will definitely out the Prius C when I am back home.  I will not consider the Insight  & Jazz Hybrid as I find the IMA not very impressive.  Not very interested in Korean car( although I must admit that the recent Korean offering absolutely put the jap to shame) because over here in Sarawak, the Korean cars have very poor after sale service and the service centre is really second grade and that somehow translate to very poor resale value.

I don't really need to buy a Prius C unless it really impress me to the extend that I want to let go the Altis.

We'll see.

i saw both the jazz and prius C. for me, both are very good, but the jazz is a much better looking car with better interior. for once, hybrid cars dont have to sacrifice the car's headroom and legroom.

however, i still prefer the prius' HSD over the jazz.

cruising quietly also has some cons, ppl complain in mall car parks,
when using HSD EV mode, pedestrians simply cannot hear your car coming, can cause accidents.

Depending on color.. Popular color 6 months

Mine have to wait July - August, which is white - not-famous colour.

For famous colours like Aqua and Blue have to wait +2 months - about Sept/Oct only can get.

Crazy But still not as crazy as the Polo GTI lol.

What is the average waiting period?  And what color is available soonest?
