Don't worry, the Prius cost more than Camry for UMW. You are getting a good deal out of it. Full spec (almost) car, with hybrid technology. I also find it very spacious.
*
Sometime we more concern about the design, luxury & performance then the technology. Although Prius is a very good deal due to Import Tax exempted. But the exterior look awful then Camry which make you look outstanding in career.

Prius only imply you are a affordable & a green person.

When is the next batch of prius c reach penisular? Cos mine suppose to wait for next batch (this coming batch in april) but I'm still dunno the estimate time of arrival yet. Anyone able to advice?

Added on April 2, 2012, 9:01 pmAnyone had test drive for the top speed? I've book this car. But wondering how is the top speed and acceleration. Is it comparable to 1.8 litre car? Cos I'm currently driving sentra 1.8. Is the acceleration really slow?

Btw, anyone had any simple mod to increase the horsepower? Or torque?

Anyone change to 16 inch rim? How is the effect? Will it really cause drag to torque, acceleration and top speed?
*
I believe Prius C from 0-60km/h, it have better acceleration then normal car, cause it is lighter & run by motor from the start. But if you try to accelerate from 50-100km/h, you might have to wait compare to your sentra.

We use to normal auto/manual gearbox, which you will feel the torque when changing to higher gear. But for CVT, you may feel the rev, but won't feel any torque until you see the speedometer you are already at speed of 80-100km/h.

Overall, CVT just give you a very smooth ride, if you want those torque feeling, better go for normal manual transmission engine car.

Don't think anyone who book in March will get it so soon. Unless is ready stock. SA said now the waiting period is 5-6 months.

Just hope can get it around June or earlier.

may i knw wht the minimun salary in order to apply loan for prius c?
*
It will depends your loan amount & the monthly installment compare to your nett income.

If you loan 90k for 7 years at 2.5% interest

You monthly installment will be RM1259 ((90k+15.75k)/84months). Bank will only approve loan installment of your 1/3 nett salary.

Meaning your nett income should be about RM3800, or about RM4400 for Gross Salary. Sorry to said, if you are not in this income group, either you beg you parents to help you pay higher down payment or just choose a local car which you are affordable.

I guess this must be the 1st car you plan to buy.

*
@timeonce, you have book Prius C? & haven't submit for loan approval?

1st car for 97k car, Prius C? wow, these day young people are so aggressive.

Sorry to tell that, currently Bank Negara had stringent the Hire Purchase Act, cause current the default rate is too high, as lot of youngster not afford for repayment after awhile. Last time bank may approve base on gross income, now is base on your nett income.

Only buy a expensive car when you really affordable. If your life not yet stable, you will suffer in life & no saving at all.

Wow, pretty good, 23.38 Km/L
I booked in late Feb, and my SA told me I may get it in May or early June, until now he said he still doesn't have car for me to test drive.

Really thinking to get full refund and find another SA.
*
Its time for you to change SA, myself had test drive 2 times, 1 myself, the other time with my dad.

Also my SA gave nice discount & good service, you can PM me for the contact.

myvi rm50k
prius c rm95k.....

45k to safe petrol, is worth it, if you rich la biggrin.gif

car made in japan from maintenance to spare part will be more expensive than myvi which has everything from sparepart to specialist.

1600km a month is nothing, thats very normal. one year only 20000km.

myvi average town + highwya is 12km/liter.
prius assume 20km/liter.

one year 20000km= 1667 liter for myvi and 1000liter for prius C.
so everyyear you save 667liter of petrol. that is nothing. 1 liter rm2 you only save rm1200 a year.

sorry to say, petrol is still cheap here. When it is rm2.90 per liter then we can talk again. rm2000 a year for rm2.9 per liter.
so, no, any rm50k car is more suitable for you.
*
If compare about low cost & maintenance, there is no match with local car (Proton & Perodua)

I love my SAGA BLM, its so cheap to own, drive & maintain. Even if something happen, it won't cost you a lot to repair (seen the car are cheap, how far can it go)

But life style change time to time, so wanna get a better car & more safety car for better enjoyment of driving.

Hi all new Prius c owner, how many mileage can you guys achieve for full tank? My first full tank can last me 680-700++km which is about 19.7km/l. With this mileage, it is slightly better than normal car. However, I assume that hybrid can achieve more mileage than mention above.

Are you guys out there manage to achieve more mileage mention above?

My SAGA BLM can reach 15km/L, seem Prius C not really that low in FC. hmm.gif

In general, when the state of charge is over 70% or so, the computer tries extra hard to use battery power. The battery is "full" at 80%, and the computer won't let it charge any further. The target level is 60% (6 bars); cruising on the highway at a constant speed will almost always leave you there. Even being 2-3% away from a 60% SoC is enough to make a small but measurable difference in the amount of energy drawn from or put into the battery while accelerating.
*
Wow, where you get those technical info? You really made lots of research.

BTW when you be getting your lovely Prius?

PriusC steering is assisted by an independent DC electric motor which operates even when the fuel engine is stopped or off. This Electric Power Steering EPS produces a high frequency motor whine from the rotation of worm and ring gears.  Some models locate the EPS motor near the steering rack under the hot engine bay. However in our PriusC, which has very little space in the engine bay, the DC motor is placed just below the steering wheel. Toyota should do a better job to insulate this noise that can be heard clearly especially during parking or when vehicle motion is slow.

More importantly, check to see if your EPS is accurate, no vibration, smooth and light (and feel lifeless).  If so, this is normal, and most people like it.
*
Wow... are you a Prius C technician/SA?

Toyota should hired you, you are so professional, better then most SA.

Hi. Mine have auto lock when speed at 8km/h. The sale person said do not have but to my surprise it autolock and unlock as well. when ignition off. The trick is you don't lock the door from the door control before moving.
*
Then you really need to show to all of us how you do it the auto lock.

BTW when you book your car & when you got it? We book in Mar have to wait long long time to get it.. sigh
