3D Blu-ray just like 2D Blu-ray, either locked by region or region free.  Their never locked by brand.  Previously, is due to exclusive right for some 3D titles brought by those brands.  So, during that exclusive period, to get those 3D titles, you have to buy those BDP and get that 3D titles for free.  tongue.gif  Avatar 3D is one of the example.  But now Avatar 3D can be per-order in many Amazon site already like Amazon.de.

oh i see... now i get it, thanks! although i'm still in the dark regarding 3D types: anaglyph, polarized & LCD shutter glasses... for example; can i watch Coraline bd (anaglyph 3D) using active shutter glasses then? hmm.gif sorryla if i make things complicated... tongue.gif

another thing, let's say if we songlap the 3D glasses from cinema, will you be able to use it for watching 3D bd movies at home? just very curious while still being confuse... hmm.gif

This is the first good deal i missed out so far. Im normally refreshing blu-ray.com every hour. Just that today im so busy.. no time to check.. argh.
*
What goes around comes around! What you missed this time might come back with even better deal in the near future my friend... sometimes you lose some and win some. At least you missed it low price before purchasing it seems better than just bought & received it... and the price just dropped like crazy!! tongue.gif

Btw, if you haven't already heard about Black Friday deals, you can try your luck during this period later this year... who knows, maybe you'll get even better deals of Predator trilogy and countless other titles... nod.gif

By the way, I just back from cinema after watching:

  • The Avengers - 4.5 Star! Love it, the best marvel movie. (I will buy the BD when out!) biggrin.gif
  • Battleship - 3.5 Star! I give this rating because giving face for the action, special effects only. The story is nah....... nothing... predictable, old fashion. (Definitely won't in my BD list)

*
wAh... watched 2 movies at cinema in one day!! notworthy.gif

But 105% agreed with u on The Avengers (watched Sunday evening on IMAX 3D). That had to be the best marvel movie ever!!! I've got to go & watch that again, most definitely.. thumbup.gif

I loved Battleship, the special effects were impressive. Bro, it was a science "fiction", what can you expect than usual predictable storyline?
*
i dont have a chance yet to watch Battleship... i heard it was really good too, and The Hunger Games! i hope this trend of missing top movies at cinema wont continue this summer for me... next on the list: Amazing Spider-Man, Dark Knight Rises, MiB3... i saw trailers on some of these titles in IMAX 3D and they're wWOWw!!! thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

why this thread so quiet? yawn.gif

btw did anyone read about The Hobbit frame rate debate... and if u did, what do u guys think? i personally think theres nothing wrong because 48fps looks similar to how we watch blu-rays on 100Hz or more HDTV these days anyway... and mr jackson & cameron are pushing this for the future especially for 3D viewing... just my thought smile.gif

You can check www.blu-ray.com for more details.  tongue.gif  Last time, when Amazon US give discount usually is $0.50, $1, $5 etc but start from early this morning, their can give you $0.02 discount or $0.16 discount just like Amazon UK.  sweat.gif

o-i-c... so you mean now amazon only give discount so little la rather than a lot like before... maybe new marketing strategy hmm.gif

Last night trying out my ages ago of blu-ray and found out that 2 copy of my blu-rays are defective already.  sad.gif
Pearl Harbor and World Trade Center. World Trade Center contains two disc, the defective one is the movie sad.gif
Anybody around here got this problems like me after around 5 years of purchase? hmm.gif
*

wAh, lidat wor? i tot all these problems only happened to dvd! im surprised because bd should've been made from a higher quality material & technology than dvd and even scratch resistance to certain degree. could this 'unreadable' case due to physical or chemical deterioration of the disc? you know like the glue that bind the disc etc... i dont know, hopefully it doesnt affect mine; having quite a number of unopened bds from 2-3 years ago! blush.gif

Don't mean to scare you but you should worry as so far I have 2 titles out of around 10 that I opened so far are spoilt that I bought about 4 yrs back.  The thing is I still have majority of BDs still unopen as they were purchased quite sometimes back and don't think will get Amazon replacement anyway.... rclxub.gif
*
That's true, I have no idea how come I ended so lazy and dumb that I do not want to open/unwrap newly arrived titles throughout the years that have accumulated by now and come to think of it, can be quite scary if one fine day I'll discover a few damaged or unplayable discs in my cabinet! doh.gif Luckily I've stopped buying these passed few months... at least that's a damage limitation... tongue.gif

well, is this the price you have to pay for buying an authentic product? tongue.gif

Get a lifelong licenced copy of AnyDVD HD, which is designed to bypass irritants like this. AND then make a digital copy of that Bluray disc. Well.. for your own educational and backup purposes of course. smile.gif
*
while i think this is a good idea to overcome the hassle of those 'irritations', i felt a bit redundant because you disregard the idea of buying the actual product and enjoying it; when you ripped it into another format etc. hmm.gif i see the use of this software more to the reason when you bought a region-lock disc that you cant access it on your region-specific bd player... but that's just my thought nod.gif i've been through all the adverts, trailers, fbi logos all too often even during dvd days... doh.gif

Can.. sell to me la.  blush.gif Recently I notice Amazon not reducing the price like they used to. Example.. new release around 25usd, then sometimes after a few months it will surprisingly go down to 15.99 or 17.99 etc. But now all standard become 19.99usd then jump back to 25usd. So bad.. kenot afford edi like that..  wink.gif
*
then might as well u wait & buy during BF yourself... much easier 4 u ma... bcoz if u wait 4 our friend here to sapu u know how long iparcel gonna take to reach here, then our post gonna find his farm summore and all that... would take few months! laugh.gif

i saw some bluray player selling at 399...is it consider cheap?
*
wOw... that is cheap! when i first jumped onto the HD-BD bandwagon, the cheapest player was the PS3; around RM1.3-4k for the 40Gb one... while the cheapest standalone player was RM2,999 i think & was a Samsung if i'm not mistaken. But that model was without the internet link so PS3 was then still the sole affordable & upgradeable BD player! And I'm still running that fat & bulky console now!! tongue.gif thumbup.gif

Apart from price, is there any significant difference in supplement contents of normal 2-Disc Combo Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (Amazon version) to Best Buy's Exclusive 3-Disc version? Anyone has either version or both to comment or recommend? thanks peeps.... smile.gif

Already totally disconnect from Internet.  This is first disc "try" that long which at first I thought the disc is defective. Now have to contact Amazon about this replacement disc.  sweat.gif
*
hmmm... dats weird. ok, before u get back to amazon, why dont u bring & test the disc at your friend's bd player (if same model & update better still!) and see whether problem persist. or better still, bring ur disc to any electrical outlets like Harvey, SenQ, Best Denki etc & test on their display bd player as though u r interested to buy & want to test with your demo disc... at least u hv different bd players at your disposal to check & determine whether it's a disc defect or update issue or lens problem etc etc.. like what i did before tongue.gif
