QUOTE(vearn27 @ Feb 2 2012, 11:52 AM) Smart in terms of budget. But whatever happened to the mandatory airbag rule anyway? Also guys, just want to know what kind of extra security measures you have on your rides other than the standard factory immobilizer and alarm? Seems a lot of people are using Stoplock for their cars. I'm still using my trusty steering lock cum bat |

This could be fun as a home project but I'm not much of an electrician to do it.

USB is far more clearer than running thru BT or the AUX jack, given the same file - an iPhone's DAC will never rival a HU's DAC

QUOTE(Irbean @ Feb 2 2012, 02:27 PM) Alarm which have sensor on the glass and any brute force to the car perhaps? Previously im eyeing on foot lock, but yet i think i dont need such since the immobilizer plays the role. At the moment only using steering lock. Well if you read experiences from car thieves, it is quite safe to say that factory security measures do nothing towards stopping the perpetrator - granted that 90% of all cars on the road have their factory security enabled, if it's the case why are we still seeing so many stolen cars all over Malaysia? In my case here, I'd prefer to discourage the thief, as there's not much of a point once the thief manages to get in after he 'kopek' open your door, screw up your interior wiring and leaves your ride damaged. And let's not forget that these people are humans too - you and I could be one of them, yet anyone can view this thread. Be wary This post has been edited by colinwong89: Feb 2 2012, 02:36 PM |

QUOTE(winstone @ Feb 2 2012, 07:12 PM) Well this should be covered by warranty. I assume that the battery was a bad batch. What brand is it anyway?edit: Just found out that it's a Yokohama NS40ZLFT - you could go to your friendly mech and ask him to swap the cap covers from the old units - that would fix it without going to the service centre. QUOTE(tutuyao @ Feb 2 2012, 10:52 PM) hi guys, i'm getting my first car tomorrow!! Grab the checklist at the first page and run it thru. Do drive around potholes and hear for scrubbing/knocking sounds, as the brake cover might be touching the discs, or the caliper and pin not placed properly. Check the battery as well - if it's a Yokohama with the model described a few posts back by me, do take safety precautions and change the battery/the caps.erm, i read through this forum and seems like a lot of ppl suggested to get the anti roll bar.. hmm may i know roughly how much? and do i need the struts bar? i only concern about safety and erm, what should i concern about when i go to test drive tomorrow? As for bars, well I'd probably get the front strut bar first. Cheapest of the lot and with most profound difference, according to them This post has been edited by colinwong89: Feb 2 2012, 11:00 PM |

QUOTE(GHOSTVIC @ Feb 2 2012, 11:04 PM) Guys Ramp up and down? You mean by pressing the gas pedal?P2 SC or P2 authorized individual SC , which is better to pick for servicing... I believe P2 SC should have immediate parts and their experiance in troubleshooting experience much more wider compare the individual SC... is that true ? how about price wise ? When we already start engine, while waiting for temperature get to normal.. have you noticed when engine ramp up and down.. the instrument panel lights will have bright and dim effects ? True what megat89 said - the compressor draws a lot of power when it kicks in, creating a momentarily strong draw which causes lights to slightly dim. |

QUOTE(megat89 @ Feb 4 2012, 09:48 AM) for the battery problem, does the liquid leak from the battery filler cap?..i just tape the cap's thread by using the white tape like we use on the water tap..will this help?.. You mean PTFE tape? Given that PTFE is quite inert but not sure how it would work in a hot, yet acidic environment. |

QUOTE(SinnerBuyer @ Feb 4 2012, 11:35 AM) If the problem cames from cap, the solution is rather simple. Just sealing the cap area. When the battery is about to kong, then only change a new one. Or just go over to your favorite mech, ask him to change the caps from used batteries to the sealed ones, and you're done |
