Since the Myvi's throttle is drive by wire, there's no difference if you flat down the pedal more than it can if the throttle position monitored by the ECU is already at max. There might be 'hidden' potential - but it's so much easier to retard it by altering the ECU settings rather than doing it physically.
I hated my Avanza - the ETC seems to only have three modes - pressing gas, pressing more gas at 1/2, and kickdown on full floor

The throttle pedal position in between any of these modes would not do anything except staying in gear longer than it should.

But it was quite convenient though. Downshift from 4th to 3rd, the moment you free-ed (N) up the gear for a moment, rev stays 1.5k-1.8k, then just slot the 3rd gear, voila! No down-shift 'jerk'.

Doesn't bother me much.

Especially if it's for double clutching for heel-and-toe, less gas to blip
