The requirements were always there . You don't really need to follow it , trust me . All the want to look at are the points in your project , that is all . But if you want to be sure , confirm with your teacher about it .

Not important ? Says who ? It's one of the important chapters .

Trust me , everybody was excited about the 4th chapter during my time but when we actually studied for the chapter before our test ,we changed our minds .

No such thing as "tips for last minute studying" . You'll regret afterwards .

Which chapter are you having difficulty in ? Science is all about visualising concepts and applying it in questions . Not much memorisation required , at least for PMR Science .

Yes . I understand . These are the chapters that require a certain degree of visualisation and understanding . But please be more specific . Which part of plant reproduction ? The parts on seed germination ? Flower pollination ? As for human reproduction , which part ? Contraception ? Menstrual phase ?

For the Earth Resources chapter , it's one of my favourites . At first I was like you : I said that there are too many things to memorise , etc . But actually it' one of the easiest chapters . You don't need to memorise the different names of minerals like bauxite , hematite , etc . You just need to know what happens to certain compounds when they're heated , added water , etc .

For heating of metals , always understand that you need air [ oxygen ] to burn those metals . Therefore when you actually burn metals , such as , say , calcium , the product of course will contain both calcium and oxygen , calcium oxide . The reverse is true if you heat calcium oxide . Heat will break down calcium oxide into calcium , and oxygen escapes [ if you forget , just look at the word oxide which signifies that there there's oxygen in it ] .

What about Calcium Carbonate ? Calcium Carbonate contains calcium , carbon and oxygen . So if you heat it , it will release carbon dioxide gas [ clue - CARBONate ] . The oxygen will remain with carbon . So the product left will be calcium oxide .

There are other compounds as well and you need to understand how they react with heat , acid as well as water [ for carbonates ] .

Knowing them will definitely help . Don't forget about the confirmatory test for gases as well like lime water , litmus paper test , burning wooden splinter . Once you know , it will be incredibly easy . Trust me .

But be specific on which process/processes you're having trouble with so I can pin point on it .

Have fun . And please stop saying that you hate science and science is boring and chemistry is mindfcuk or whatever . What you're learning now is the BASICS of science . If you can't cope with the basics , then what makes you think that you can cope with Economics , Accounts , Add Maths or Commerce in form 4 ? Even if you do choose Arts Stream , what makes you think that you can escape Science ? You'll still have General Science for SPM . So , learn to love it . Nothing is more wonderful than knowing how the world works . Not everybody has the opportunity to learn about chemicals , reproduction of plants , etc .

What are the hard chapters ? PMR Maths is fairly simple .
Memorising formulas is not recommended . For me , I'll try my best to understand the entire concept before going on to the formula . Once you know the concept , you'll remember the formula .

ALWAYS TRY TO UNDERSTAND the concepts , and it will help you to apply your understanding to solve questions .

I am not satisfied even if I'm able to solve Add Maths questions easily if I don't know why the formula is applied or why the question needs to be solved in that way . Sometimes it takes weeks to finally understand , but it's worth it I tell you . You'll never forget after that .

I'm sorry , but what is chapter 6 and 7 all about ?

Algebraic expressions ? Algebrae manipulation ?

One thing : Master your algebra . It'll come in handy in many things .

Both are easy subjects for PMR but Geografi is by far the easiest . It would be better for you to study your F1 chapters first as they carry most weight . I would suggest doing past year papers to strengthen your Form 2 / 3 chapters . Repeated questions will come out .

So how's the preparation going ? I'm assuming that your kerja kursus thing is done , and now it's best to focus on your studies . If not , then finish it as soon as possible , before the holidays . Trust me , it'll do you good .

Formula will be provided for both papers , but those elementary formulas are important and it'll be great if you remember all of them , so you don't need to flip through the formula pages . You'll use your basic PMR Math skills the most for your SPM and beyond , trust me on that .

At first I told myself , Form Four will be a breeze . Only a bit harder than PMR , but not more than that .

How wrong was I .

Form Four is definitely much stressful , and there's a lot to cover .
To be honest I spent the entire day cramming Chapter 4 of Sejarah into my head for my mid-term exam . And that is not enough as I have chapter 2 and 3 to go . I know I won't have much time , and I know I won't be able to cover all . But yeah , just to prove the point of having too much stuff to cover before exams .

But , you won't have that problem if you prepare early . I did not . I took things for granted and thought that I could finish all 4 chapters on time a few days before the exam , but no . Truth to be told , if you want to fail badly for your SPM , study last minute .

Yes , mostly subjective and essay questions . Lots of essay questions . And don't get me started on Moral .

But besides being overly stressed out before exams , form four is fun . More freedom - and you rely less on the teacher . Plus I get to study interesting subjects like Add Maths , Physics , Biology and Chemistry which is really interesting . As you can see , I like Science .

In a nutshell , Form Four life is stressful is you do not prepare beforehand for your exam and not that stressful if you study consistently . Not to forget that you still remember your PMR Maths during Form Four - it'll make things much easier for Modern Maths and Add Maths .

Enjoy your PMR life while you can . But things will only get much better and interesting when you step on the form four ladder .

On a side note - don't be too stressed out for your PMR . You can look at my PMR thread and see how I reacted and asked tons of questions and freaked out about PMR . Sure , I got straight A's in the end but the stress and the amount of work and effort being put into it , well , not worth it . You must study , that's for sure - but have fun along the way .

c ( c-d ) = c^2-cd . c is MULTIPLIED with both c and -d if you use the distributive property . Noticed your mistake ?

As a PMR student , you shouldn't be doing Surat . Trust me , surat will limit your flow of ideas . Write fakta/perbincangan/syarahan/pendapat karangan instead with elaboration on points . But if it's your homework , then the word count starts from the first line of your address .
