Yup. The GT555M in Lenovo Y570 is just basically a GT550M with DDR5. Its 96SP-128-bit.
While the GT555M in Asus N45SF/N55SF/MSI GE620DX is 144SP-128-bit. GT555M in Alienware M14x is the better one, 144SP-192-bit. |

QUOTE(arctictyke @ Jan 6 2012, 11:52 AM) Hi all, Take the N45SF.1. Preferred Brand Dell, Acer, Asus, HP, Toshiba, MSI, but I'm open for other suggestions? 2. Budget 2.5k to 3k, can go for a little higher if needed 3. Usage - Mostly for graphic designs; occasional web dev, movie editing, and 3d rendering. - Casual gaming, the likes of StarCraft 2, and some MMOGs. 4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14" I'm probably looking for a notch below the category of a 'gaming laptop', but meh, I'm not so sure what fits the bill. Hehe. I'm considering Asus N45SF or Dell XPS 14z. Any comments on these two laptops? Would you recommend another laptop for me? Thanks! XPS 14z's GPU is weak for gaming. If you prefer to have faster processor, can consider the Lenovo Y470 with Core i7 Quad. QUOTE(Scud_eSpade @ Jan 6 2012, 12:03 PM) Asus u36SD vs Dell XPS 14Z The U36Sd has the bigger battery, so it will last longer..my priority is lightweight (heavy traveler), usage for matlab and surfing. not really gamers Dont like heat problem. prefer long battery life U36SD: i5-2430M (2 core)-2.4GHz (Turbo up to 3)/3M 13.3" HD Color Shine SLIM(LED) (1366x768) 4GB DDR3 1333 750GB-7200rpm NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520M 1GB graphics ext DVD ~1.6kg RM2799 XPS14Z: i5-2450M processor 2.50 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.10 GHz 14.0" (35.6cm) HD WLED True-Life (1366x768) - (but in 13" body) 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520M 1GB graphics 9.5mm SATA Slot Load DVD+/-RW 8 Cell Primary Battery ~1.9kg RM2699 which one is is better option? |

Games performance should be similar, just that the one with 7200rpm HDD, might load the game a bit faster. |
