Anybody can explain what does it mean by a lens focusing beyond infinity? Read about it at fred miranda forums. I thought infinity focusing is already limit for focusing? Still can go beyond one a? hmm.gif

Yea, most AF lens today turn to end, is pass/beyond infinity. Have to turn back a bit, the minor spacing is calibration purpose.

MF Lens like (dunno how to spell) voitlander when turn to infinity, is sure infinity, won't pass beyond infinity point.
*
Ohhhhhhhhhh. No wonder when I turn my lens all te way tr pics looks so soft. Thanks.

ermm, flash in low-light and indoor-based
put it that way, i'm trying to fully utilize the built-in flash without creating the boring flattening/washout image

so, can i safely assume that with an external flash and proper settings, all the problem faced above can be minimized?
*
Another dis advantage of pop up flash is it eill give you dark shadows at certain focal length. It also depends how close you are with the subjects as your lens may block off some of the flash light which creates the shadow.

Depend on working.distant, light fallout behave differently. Since you are near to subject, and in water behave diff (light travel slower) The setting I mention work but for normal situation, the formula work differently again. Like I mention, diff situation, diff setting.
*
Speed of light doesn't change wherever you go. It's just less light reaching underwater.

Wrong.. the speed of light actually does change when travelling through different mediums where the density of the mediums differ...

ieR : Why u always got pretty model to shoot? I jelly!!!
*
QUOTE(lwliam @ Jan 5 2012, 12:24 PM)
Physics fail

C, the constant for speed of light is based in vacuum. Different density of the medium it is passing through gives different multiplying factor which slows the light down.

It is because of this you have your CA, fringing and what not, rainbow included. Because lens have different density than air (like duhh)..

There is, and the price is high, this prevent d3s price from dropping too much, commercial studio shooter will still pick the 24mp d3x so its price is not affected badly. So only birding and sport shooter will go crazy for d4, portrait shooter will joy from minor d3s price drop. But Canon should be worried, as the spec is totally 1dx killer. Canon is losing its market share slowly....
*
Which areas does the D4 owns in 1DX? Autofocus and metering? Even the fps is still stuck at 10.

Seems like only Sony can do a 10fps camera under 3k.

There is a lot stuff that only pro body offer. But then of coz, sony still the best bang for buck la... Lol.

Till today, metering system is very important to me, althought, evf will tell ur exposure so metering is no more overate as we now see live exposure...
*
I know pro body has a lot to offer. But my main question is how d4 will appeal to current d3s users who don't take serious videography or time lapse. Granted the increase in megapixels might look appealing to die hard Nikon fans who said that megapixels doesn't matter.

Eh, why you got so expensive lens but don't use ahh? Go use a cheap 50mm pulak. If I got 1635z, I'll be using that everyday. tongue.gif
*
Well the most expensive 50mm lens in Sony's arsenal is the f1.4... Not like is he has other choices..

And unless you are trying to be creative you don't use UWA for portraits and sharpness wise the prime still owns.

using live view with a tripod?

no tripod. all handheld biggrin.gif

QUOTE(8tvt @ Jan 8 2012, 06:54 PM)
live view is useful wor..
sometimes using wide lens.. shooting on eyes level is not right..
need to put the camera above the head lol..
*
nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

i see most people who do over head shots without live view always shoot blindly and rely on luck (or experience after so many failed shots =X) one.
