anyone now what is tye changelog from ics to jb on our nexus?
here you go:
http://www.android.com/about/jelly-bean/

The main difference for me is the voice actions is suddenly super now, recognizing my voice 95% of the time. Just press the voice button on the google search bar and say "olympics badminton malaysia", or "remind me to wake up at 730am tomorrow".

Hey, does anyone knows how to reset the option "always" and "just once" in JB?
I accidentally selected "always" for one of the options...

Go into Settings->Manage Apps->All

Select the App that you have set to run as default.

Scroll down to "Launch By Default", then click "Clear defaults".

anyone here using voice to set alarm?
any idea how to change the default alarm (song)
the default one is so ._.

and anyone now the command for setting new event in calender using voice?
*
Yeah, sometimes I do use voice to set alarm, its faster to say "Remind me to wake up at 730am", but the problem is eventually the alarms will keep on adding to the list. No idea how to change the default alarm, I quite like the default alarm actually. smile.gif

Not sure how to set new event in calendar using voice, let me know after you find out.

how to upgrade my cwm v4.0.1.4  to cwm 5502 to flash JB 4.1?

use fastboot to overwrite cwm 4014?
*
fastboot flash recovery <recoveryfile>?

however, I think you should be able to flash the rom with any recovery version.

Added on August 15, 2012, 12:40 pmbtw, any one use Waze application?
*
You can try the BetterBatteryStats here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809

It will tell you which app is waking up your phone the most time, for me its latitude most of the time.

Yeah, Waze is a very nice app, however I only use it for commute to work and back home, as its hard to search anything in there. Just discovered the widget also, nice to see how long it will take to reach home so I know what time I should leave office. smile.gif

What do you mean by "cannot"? Give us a URL and something in there that you are trying to download, then we will compare our steps with yours. smile.gif

Hey, did you guys do any battery calibration on your battery? I have been doing some poking on my phone, and now I realise that my battery voltage level seems to be quite unstable, looking at those am_battery_level messages from logcat -b events, and its waking up my phone too often.

Was reading and thinking of doing something like
1. drain until auto off
2. on it again and make sure it turns off by itself
3. charge when the phone is off, until its full
4. turn the phone on
5. wait for 10 minutes
6. disconnect the charger.

Its hard to find a 2-3 hours slot where I can charge the phone while its off though, good if I can hear you guy's experience for those who have tried this.

Welcome!

About battery life, I have finally decided to stop using Latitude, sigh, it used to be one of the things that I boast to my iOS friends about, but it drains the battery like mad.

if i hard reset it from fast boot menu, will it wipe out all data from internal sdcard?
How do you "hard reset from fast boot menu"?

I know that when I run the flash-all.sh script from
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
It DOESN"T wipe out the sdcard data.

I'll wait for next Nexus phone before giving up this phone. Maybe a quad core phon after Nexus 7.

Hopefully end of the year there will be a more high spec Nexus phone, Galaxy Nexus is actually quite dissapointing. But I bought N7, maybe can hold on this NS until 2013's Nexus phone. smile.gif

Its amazing that our phone is almost the same spec with Samsung Galaxy 1, and we get Jelly Bean when Samsung Galaxy 3 has just gotten it.

I have started to use Green Power, now I have more than half battery left after I finish work. Its tough to choose between having always on connectivity or having the phone to play with when I am free for 1-2 hours. tongue.gif

Did you feel any performance changes in the UI? I read that there's some changes to enable triple buffering on our device, dunno what it is though.

Anyone knw the diff ?

Read from xda that the L is just for Australia, its just a small change, that when there's no sim card in the phone, it will still display this "Emergency Call Only" message when the screen is locked.

I flashed the L, but notice no change from E, waiting for 4.1.2 now. smile.gif

Added on October 16, 2012, 10:33 amThe OTA is already out.

Realise that there's this new settings called Automatic Timezone in the Date and Time settings, is it new in JB or only 4.1.2?

Seems like they fixed those paid wallpaper and paid widget not appearing upon reboot issue also.

Did you try the 1970 trick?

1. Settings -> Manage Apps
2. All
3. find Google Services Framework, kill it and clear data
4. Settings -> About Phone -> System Updates
5. the date should show 1970, then click Check
6. you need to be on WIFI also for this to work I think.

The only notable difference is that the Paid Widgets and Wallpapers don't get removed after reboot.

Cool.

Don't know if its placebo effect or not, somehow I feel like the battery life improved. The Galaxy Nexus guys seems to feel it also:
