So quiet here, would like to share how convenient the ICS image editor is, all done from the phone only.

After being too fed up with the bad battery life (down to red in 8 hours), finally installed BetterBatteryStats and do some serious testing on my phone. Finally realized its this Google Location Services that is keeping my phone awake all the time, even though I have already logged out from Latitude!

Too bad the enabling of this option have a pops up, if not it will be a perfect option for my tasker to turn it on/off.

eh guys my phone keep hang when back to homescreen( when quiting apps), its like all apps restarting... any idea why??
and the google music is worse sleep.gif take ages to load.....
*
the homescreen is just another application (called the Launcher) from Android's point of view. So if you run some apps that takes all the memory, like Asphalt 6, then android will kill the Launcher.

Then when you quits the big app, it will restart the Launcher, so this is actually quite normal, until you get a phone with bigger RAM.

Did you do the trick thing to sign up for Google Music?

Mine is quite fast in showing the list of songs I have uploaded.

the funny part is im on my study week for final so basically i never play any game for quite  a time and all i do is viber, cubie, whatsapp or facebook or stalking my own photo album and i dont think that take up alot ram >? or im wrong??

sad.gif
any other possible explanation?
*
lol, the game is just an example, if you open enough applications, eventually all of them together will take up ram.

Press the menu->Manage Apps->Running

then you can see the running apps and how much RAM each one is taking.

I remember for ICS, the OTA actually hits first before the code is being uploaded to AOSP, but this time, seems like the code hits first. smile.gif

nexus vs s2 camera, which one the best?

I think nexus s camera is equivalent to the original galaxy s. S2 camera should be better.

Review of JB on NS after running it for 2 days:
1. I don't feel any difference in UI smoothness, maybe its too subtle to be differentiated.
2. Google Now seems overrated, it can only show 3 cards for me now, weather, direction and traffic (which I can't seem to find out how to configure to tell it that I don't work on weekends), and appointments.
3. The speech recognition seems to have improved, it can now recognize some of my speech even in the car.
4. Real Football 2012 seems smoother now, not sure whether its JB or its the kernel (I am still using the port)
5. Chrome seems more laggy while using it to view Facebook!

That's about it, a lot of small features here and there (like setting that a wifi is hotspot and should not be used for those settings that have been set to "Download via WIFI only" etc) but didn't effect me.

Hopefully there's OTA this week. smile.gif

Yeah everything working.

Strange, I seems to find JB not smoother at all, however two of you guys already experienced it!

Just hope it make my Real Football and Dead Trigger less laggy.

Dead Trigger have just converted me to FPS gamer on the Android. It plays quite nicely in ICS, however, in JB, it lags like mad, and is not playable when there are like 5+ zombies on the screen.

While waiting for ChainFire to support JB so I can give that a try again, I hooked up my phone to ADB while playing Dead Trigger and realise that Android seems to be doing a lot of Garbage Collection and restarting of processes (gapps and maps mainly)

Suspecting that these GC and restart might be causing the lag, I installed AutoKiller and set it to the Aggressive Profile, and viola, Dead Trigger is much smoother now! Will do a bit more testing on which AutoKiller mode is best.

Why not just buy another second hand nexus s? I am sure the price is cheap now, I am also thinking whether to upgrade my NS or try to get the N7.
