Yeah on custom ICS now and wifi is also stable . Don't think I've got even 1 disconnection if I'm within wifi range .

And by disconnection, does it only happens when your screen is off? If it is them maybe you didn't set the wifi policy to never off in wifi settings

Ya flashing official updates doesn't need cwm, the stock recovery can handle it very nicely.

The reason for cwm is because the custom firmwares are not signed by google/Samsung like official firmware updates.

Rom not sure but for kernel, currently I'm using Air kernel(Korean dev) and idle time battery usage is crazy good . Very happy with this kernel . Everything seems snappy too and it comes with most of the goodies for nexus s.

yeah, ICUP speedy is nice. I was on it before jumping over to Air.

1 of the reason I left is because the inclusion of too many (useless) governers IMHO haha. But no doubt, SPEEDY are really stable and fast too smile.gif

How is battery life with this kernel? Interested to use that kernel since it also support USB OTG...
*
From my personal observations, the idling power consumption is the lowest among kernels I've tried . This morning my phone was idle for 7 and a half hours with wifi and sync on for Gmail, email, Facebook, G+, G currents, GReader, twitter and so on. Bln also on when I check the phone, it only took about 8 to 9 % for all that. Meaning 1% + per hour which I'm very happy with.

Usage consumption about the same .

Its called bln back light notification feature normally comes with custom kernel .

What do you mean by solve it? u want it to remain on after 10 minutes or u want it to never turn on?

Anyway, help yourself and download nstools from market, inside u can change the settings for bln and also some other settings.

Set bln to off if u don't want the light to come up at all, or set duration to 0 if u want it on forever

also provide all the settings under Backlight Notification including blink status, blink interval and blink max count. My guess your blink interval is 1000ms and max blink count is 600 times , there u go .. thats your 10 minutes tongue.gif
