Dont be so bothered by the fan. Every car is the same, Proton or not. U only need to worry if it is not spinning at all.

erm, not saying the louder sound is good, but maybe they can do a little better engine bay sound insulation. Just something to ponder, have u ever drive pug 308 vti,pug 308thp or 407? When u r inside the car,it is really serene, quiet n comfortable, but when u open the door, go to the front, the sound coming from under the hood become an attraction, but never mind coz its pug with psa bmw prince engine. People around u also dont bother coz its pug by the way. But if in prtn car, sometimes we scared that people around will say, itulah kete prtn, bunyi cam kapal g ke laut, bunyi cam lori kind of a word.

For me,its ok coz hear many contis having loud engine sound, as long as inside is not loud, but still insist they make it quietier.

NVM LA, bashers will be bashers.

Engine too loud they say macam motorsikal, Engine too quiet they'll say Proton engine no power wan, see no sound wan doh.gif

Hahaha...yeah, just want to know why not many people book the prime  hmm.gif

is it because it just 6 seater? while the bold is 7
*
One of the reasons, maybe.

Personally I think it is less practical than the bold premium, and the LCDs at the back could be thief magnet. For most people, the Bold premium is sufficient as a people mover, they won't pay more for the Prime.

Has anyone here already got Exora Bold Premium?. It is almost 3 months and I am still waiting. It is more frustrating when the dealer is not able to give an estimated date of delivery. All they say is " wait, wait ".
Please Proton buck up on your service to the customers.
*
The dealer made you wait because they did not stock, hardly Proton's fault if you ask me.

V12 Kompressor and others thanks for your comments. I booked my car at proton 3s center. I think I cannot change my booking to the other dealer. Not sure what will happen to my booking fee ?.
Karlbum, luckily I insisted on getting an official receipt for my booking.
I wanted to find out where this problem could be?.
*
Which 3S center? Is there another company name on the receipt other than Proton?

hi,
I new owner of the CFE EB. only clock 700kms so far. Compared with Alza, i feel that the engine and CVT noises are much significantly higher than Alza, but Alza road noises penetrated into the cabin more. During pickup or slow-down (decelerating), the engine and CVT noises are disturbing.

Curious if anyone know any DIY methods to kill off these noises?

I posted this on the Saga thread after receiving Kristof's reply on a couple of questions about the CVT

On the issue of CVT coasting in N. Bolded parts were my questions, the regular text is Kristof's answer, red text is my comment.

QUOTE
Hi Kristof,

This is pertaining to the CVT system on the Proton Saga FLX.

Is it safe to coast in N gear? Or allow the front wheels to spin at high speed in N gear?

I have been told that it might damage the CVT. Is that true?

No problem, as long as the engine is running!

So, I conclude that:

1.) It is OK to coast in N, still generally not recommended in any car because you lose engine braking and no engine power during emergencies. And IF you engage D mode while the car is coasting, it may damage your CVT.
2.) Do not tow your car with the front wheels on the road, unless your engine is running.
3.) It is OK to do on wheel balancing, as long as your engine is running.

FYI, the CVT oil pump runs on engine power, which is why you need a running engine.

Thanks for your quick reply. Here is another one:

When I Jack up the whole car, meaning the wheels are not touching the ground, and put the gear in D, the front wheels spins relatively slowly when I press the throttle pedal. This is different than my other 4AT car, which will spin at normal speed as if it is on the ground. Why is that?

Because there is a recognition on this, the back wheels are standing still, causing the transmission not to shift up, unless you press it harder.

No idea we had this feature in the CVT. Not sure what purpose it serves, though  blink.gif

sorry for looking like a noob

i saw a mudah ad says "NEW Proton Exora BOLD CVT 2012"

this CVT is it another name for CPS / CFE or a different category?

sorry again for noob question  notworthy.gif
*
CVT is the gearbox.

CPS and CFE refers to the engine.

For the EB, only the CFE engine comes with the the CVT gearbox. So if it says CVT, then it is a CFE EB.
