sorry for the late review. tongue.gif

ok about 1 week before 2014 raya, me and my parents went to cheelam's shop. our main problem is our Proton Waja's air-cond isn't functioning (blowing out hot air).

we went a bit late than scheduled due to unforeseen circumstances (12pm, appointment 11am). after checking up, it seems the previous aircond shops tried to con us by taking out the fuse in the fusebox and cutting off wires from compressor. the workers made a quick job and the aircond functions normally again, except that it's not cold and according to them, there's a bit of smell.

after some consultation, we agreed to have the aircond serviced. my goodness, the cooling coil looked so slimy and cannot be washed anymore need to be replaced. after cleaning and replacing parts here and there and adding gas, the aircond is cold again! (below 10C at lowest temp + full blast)

other than aircond, they helped to rectify our power window problem (all four doors), door problem (the inner lock rubber had worn out), made us bought the seat cover and carpet mat. tongue.gif

overall i can say excellent service. changing of parts are explained with the cost involved and they work efficiently as well. the price is also reasonable with the workmanship done. will go there next time to service my saga  thumbup.gif

Hi.

How much to change a new cooling coil? The dashboard needs to be removed for this right? If so, how long will it take for a full check up and how much?

Thanks.

Mind telling your car model/year?
Not all car vehicles need to remove their dashboards when doing the coil replacement.

The gas leakage place needs to be identified by checking your aircond system. Then, the right solution could only be determined.

The sound issue needs to be checked if it comes from the outer or inner part of compressor.

Problem: The owner of this car found the air-flow is slow and the rear air-cond unit is not cold.

Solution: Full air-cond service is conducted on both front and rear air-cond system. Few air-cond parts have been replaced, e.g. front cooling coil & valves, rear cooling coil & valves, air-cond cabin filter and receiver drier.

Hi,

Here's my scenario, lately my myvi (year 2006) aircon is blowing warm air when stopping in front of traffic or during jamming on the road, the rpm doesn't go down unless i turn off the A/C. It will go back to normal when car is running and the air is cold again but it's a bit noisy than before.

Few months ago, the foreman from auto care center that i was always service my car had told me that my compressor is going down and asked me to change it when it completely down. And now I think it's time to change. But he said the valve and condenser might also need to be changed if it goes down as well.

As I know myvi is famous on aircon faulty, I was wonder if i pay for this time and the problem will still exist in few months later, i will cry so hardly bcoz I just spent around 1.6k for radiator, cap those parts after my water lvl went up last month.

As the foreman told me that denso is no longer provide any manufacturer warranty for new unit but 3 months for recond, is it true? It will cost me around 1k for compressor, valve, condenser and plus service if those 3 parts has to be replaced. Is the price reasonable?

BTW, i changed once my compressor in June 2012 in another place for around rm1.3k with only 3 months warranty, i not sure any other parts was changed since was my bro took it for replacement and then the problem started not more than 1 year.

I need some advice or suggestion, sorry for a long post sad.gif

Thanks for your issue sharing.

Based on your description, share the main 2 reasons contributing to your problem:
1. Insufficient of a/c gas due to leakage (have to check where the leakage place is)
2. Malfunctioning of a/c parts (e.g. compressor, fan...)

Good if you'd do a detailed air-cond check-up to identify what the particular problem source and the right solution are for your issue. PM you too!

Based on your description, possibly the air-cond blower motor makes the noise, yet checking needs to be carried out to confirm the problem source and solution.

PM you too. icon_rolleyes.gif

Most likely the sound comes from hose or blower, etc. Checking needs to be conducted to determine the problem source and solutions.
