hyundai i10 1.25 KAPPA engine, just 1 years old, since day one the air cond on and off got bad chemical  smell flown out, especially during night time, hyundai service center not able to solve it, any clues ? and quotation please
*
We met this situation on other cars before and found the problem is caused by the air-cond cooling coil. Sometimes, there are other reasons such as holes to direct the external smell into the car internal part, etc.

QUOTE(akmis @ Mar 20 2012, 01:58 PM)
anyway to make kenari / kelisa aircon colder especially during Hot Afternoon and idling? as cold as proton perhaps?
*
For kenari/kelisa car, the air-cond main system parts (e.g. compressor, condensers...) are located too near to the engine system part, which have caused low heat dispersion. Furthermore, insufficient gas or compressor malfunctioning would also made the air-cond not as cold as other cars.

QUOTE(bem69 @ Mar 24 2012, 07:59 PM)
I went to fix up my car around 10 am today (Saturday). cheelam a.k.a Fei handled the transaction very professionally and courteously. My aircond was given a full service, with total cleanup, I see all sorts of branches and what not that is probably over 2 years old. I had a hose leakage and my cooling coil was a bit dirty (never changed).

I was advised and explained by Ah Choy (pardon if I spell it wrong) about why I needed to change the cooling coil and I HAD the option to clean or change the cooling coil, which I like. Bottom line, my aircond has never felt as cold as this. Very happy customer.

So, lets cut to the chase and I'll tell you why I like Sungai Wang Accessories even though I'm from Shah Alam, which is a long drive.

1) Great customer service, and customer support. Friendly, and explanations are given a lot, so I learned how the aircond functions in general, and tips to take care of it. I was surprised to see 3-4 people working on my car simultaneously, its like they are a pit crew or something but they sure are attentive.

2) I can see that they are experts in the aircond department. Within seconds, there's a cap missing on my hose, which was misplaced by my previous mechanic.

3) They didn't care about my car, or me, they just got straight to it. I admit, I'm not the best with taking care of my car, and my car is not really showroom condition. I like that. I've had several places I go to who condemned my car. Needless to say, first and last business from me.

4) They respected my budget, and fixed whatever they could, according to my budget. I had a problem with my speakers, and Ah Choy was quick to explain that priority should be given to the aircond, since the car audio, you can still listen to one speaker LOL. Prices of the parts and services were VERY reasonable too.

5) VALUE ADDED SERVICES - This is what I most like. This is what every customer wants. This is what will make me a repeat customer (take note cheelam hehe). My car, lamps (signals, rear light, front light) were checked, whether anything need replacing. My left signal weren't working, changing the bulb didn't help. It was a wiring problem. The wiring problem was SETTLED WITH without me saying anything. My car horn had a wiring problem too, I haven't used the horn for 2-3 years. That was fixed too. Its the little things like this that shows that they care for the car/customer. Great stuff!

Needless to say, I found professional people to take care of my 15-year old car's aircond and audio needs. Recommended.

*
Have never expected such a SUPER-GOOD feedback from a customer. VERY APPRECIATE THAT!!

Just shared with the whole team in this morning~ They feel so pleasure and honored!

Do let us know if you have any further inquiry about car air-cond or other accessories stuff. Great day to you ^^

good day cheelam. i drive 3 years old myvi and this week i encounter a very bad experience. when i turn on my air cond, there is a very bad smell like a dead animal inside my aircond. this smell coming out even if i just on the fan without a/c button press. what is the issue and how to fix it? how much the cost to check my car aircond? really appreciate your fast reply...
*
Suggest that doing air-cond service would solve this issue as possibly there are "unknown" stuff dropped inside.
Yet, it's good to do check-up firstly to re-confirm the cause of your problem.

Hi there,I have some enquiry about my aircon problems.
I am driving a 97 Honda City 1st Gen.
Q.Currently when the car drive at crawling speed or stop and go or idle, there will be no more cool air ( after 15mins of driving in those senario ).Just the blower working and rpm is at 1500 and radiator fan is turn on non stop.It seems like heat related but the radiator temperature is constant.
Q.But when driven at more than 60kmh(highway,long distance), the air con works at its best.Pressure is good(checked with shop)
Already bypass the thermal proctector.Relay is good.
Q.How much is the recon compressor and also full service ?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreaciated.
Thank you
*
Thanks for sending us inquiry! biggrin.gif

According to your detailed statements above, we'd assumed that no gas leakage happened since you mentioned the pressure is good. For those cars are cold only during speeding up, it's most likely related to air-cond fan (different from radiator fan) or time for a full a/c service. Yet, it's good to have a FREE check-up with us on your car system to confirm the problem.

pm-ed you the quotation on compressor & full service.

*
it's advisable to conduct a full air-cond service for every 1-2 years in order to maintain your system condition.

QUOTE(ferDy @ Jul 19 2012, 04:54 AM)
hi bro cheelam,

i need some advise from u regarding my air cond situation, my car air cond (satria 1.6, 1996) actually very cold  till march this year(i bought it 2nd hand on 2009) where the air flow from the a/c vent start to block after some driving around 30 minutes, i need to off the a/c for a while then turn on then it will be ok and the a/c is still very cold, then the problem will repeat again and again as long as im driving.

i go to an a/c mechanic around my area(shah alam) on april and they told me that problem came from my thermostat sensor(rm140) which i need to replace. they said i need to service(rm110+ gas rm40) the a/c becoz  the sensor is attached to the cooling coil. so i just agree with the suggestion. during the servicing process they asked me to replace the valve(rm140) near the coil and the filter(seems like a tube or can)(rm70) too. so i have paid rm500 for the job. sweat.gif

then the blocking problem have gone but i can feel the a/c is not very cold anymore. when i ask the mechanic they say its normal and asked me to wait around 2-3 days for the a/c to be normal back. I've waited for a week and the a/c still the same and i notice it not cold at all when its hot outside on afternoon and not so cold when its not hot outside during daytime and only cold during the night.  unsure.gif

when i go back to the mechanic, they said may be need to top up the gas abit more(from 23psi earlier to 30 psi) and i end up paying another rm40. they asked me to test it around another week. no different after a week waiting then i go back to the mechanic again to complain. then they suggest me to re service back as they suspect something may be wrong and i may end up paying more if they encounter other problem within my a/c system. i started to get fed up with their behavior and i refuse to follow their advise at that moment. hmm.gif

so my question now, am i being conned here? what are the advise and solution for my problem? what is the estimation on the cost to fix the problem as im still a university student where my cash flow is not as smooth as working people.  icon_question.gif

thanks.
*
The car air-cond system is complicated and sometimes the problem will come after one by one (especially 2nd hand or old cars). Our customers have such headaches too.

If the air-cond is still un-cold after your last gas refill, most probably gas leakage happens and needs to check where the leakage is. Then, you'd find out the proper solution & price.

If you find uncomfortable with the workshop, suggest to visit another workshop for second reference.

Try to discuss and negotiate with those workshops on the best option if you have budget concerns. Hope this suggestion helps.

Here comes my late reply since I went to your shop repair the aircond last Saturday...... Since my car aircond never go thru any service besides than top up the gas, so that I'm decided to perform full aircond service which is required to do dashboard dismantle and service the whole set aircond.....

After 6 and the half years my Myvi on the road, I get shocked by the dust accumulated inside the cooling coil part. By the way, due to my budget constraint, they still willing to perform what they can do for me and did it properly.... The things I changed during this service are Aircond Compressor, Condenser, Expansion Valve, High Pressure hot pipe, cooling coil which I never expect need to change and cabin filter which I bought from somewhere else and bring to there for installations...

After around 6 hours of hard work by them, my aircond is back to the new stock car condition and it does cost me around RM1900..... But all these money is worth to spend...... Thumbs up with their services.....  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

They do explain a lot about the aircond system inside our car and provides a lot of aircond service tips to make the lifespan of aircond system longer...

When they dismantle my dashboard and front bumper, they do saw a lot of screw is missing.... After the service complete, they just add-on the screw which is already missing and place back to it.... It does makes my car dashboard didn't got a lot of noise like the previous one anymore......  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

Once they changing the another parts, they saw my radiator is full of rusted water and they found out my car radiator piping is already harden due to not service regularly... They do suggest me to change all the piping and perform full radiator flush which I think it is necessary later on....

They found out one of my car headlight reflector dropped inside the headlight and then they try to remove for me, but I asked them try to reinstall for me and they does... Without extra charge..... They do tighten my car alarm siren for me since it always faced down.....

After all, thumbs up to your service team..... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

Just need to find a time go back to ur shop and do checking since now the funny voice comes up again.......  icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey bro I have two proton wira at home. One is sedan n the other one is the special edition.
Both my Wira got same problem. When the car is moving the air cond is cold but when I stay stationary for some time in the afternoon it gets warm. The air won't b cold. I opened Bonney n check..the fan is moving. Any ideas bro?
*
Since you've checked the fan, most possibly there are 3 main reasons contributing to your problem:
1. Insufficient of a/c gas due to leakage (have to check where the leakage place is)
2. Malfunctioning of a/c parts (e.g. compressor,...)
3. not serviced for more than 2 years

Yet, it's good to get a mechanic check on your current system to confirm the issue.

bro,
do we need to service our car a/c?
I had a recon japanese car..year make 05. My a/c is still running well. My freind said that we do not have to service/ top up gas as long as the a/c is cold. Iziit true?
I am worried by the time the a/c is not cold, major parts like a/c comp, cooling coil need to be replace (and the cost will kill me).
What should I do? Do I need to send my a/c for regular check up? and how much do u guys charge? thanks..
*
Based on our experience, it's good to keep a constant maintenance on your car air-cond in order to prolong its age and improve its performance. Just like constantly changing your car engine oil, a basic maintenance to your car air-cond is necessary too.

Without regularly taking care of the machine, as you stated, it'll merge a big major problem as time goes longer.

The charges on a basic a/c service will be varied based on car models. Mind telling your car model & years for accurate quotation?

It's advisable to conduct air-cond service for every 2 years.
Just like car servicing, a regular maintenance is important to take care of the machine.

My ride: Merc C270 CDI (W203), aircond fully functioning well, cold, always use 25-26 degree Celsius, just nice, no problem, but never being serviced for 2 years plus. But my kids said there are some funny unpleasant smell, do you do deodorizing or disinfectant services? I guess my aircond also need service, right?

Please PM on your pricing. Tq in advance.

If the unpleasant smell exists only when the air-cond turns on, doing a full air-cond service (clean the internal air-cond parts) would be sufficient. And it's good to service your air-cond for every 2 years to maintain its health condition.

Pm-ed you!

hai bro...

i just service my gen2 aircond last 2 month. Change the filter under dashboard and check all other part, cooling coil no leaking, compressor still in good condition. all piping ok. and top up gas

but last week my aircond only blow hot air. not cold air anymore. can advice me on this issue?

what should i do? to repair how much it cost?

Hai.. Just to share the main 2 reasons contributing to your problem:
1. Insufficient of a/c gas due to leakage (have to check where the leakage place is)
2. Malfunctioning of a/c parts (e.g. compressor, condenser...)

Sometimes another problem could possibly merge out after you serviced your car 2 months ago.
It's good if you'd go back to the previous workshop or visit us to re-confirm your "hot air" issue.
