Hi,

Yesterday went to sunway piramid Maxis Center, the staff not allow me to purchase IP 4S and sign up for plan due to i'm Digi user. They request me change the line to maxis first then only can sign up for IP 4S.
May i know anybody experience the same problem?just wonder why they cant proceed with 1 time istead of duplicate the work....haih

Or they refuse to transfer ur number to maxis network?

I did consider jumping boat to Digi coz they got stock. Digi willing to help but the drawback is I need do the procedure today then wait 24hrs then come back to get the ip4s and new sim.

Which I find it troublesome..

no, current number that you are using. For maxis, if u tranfer from other telco, u need to wait 24hour then only can activate maxis line.
when ur maxis line activate, then only can sign up for IP 4s plan...

But if u register a new line@number, u can activate immediately and sign up IP 4S...

The point is preventing new customer going to other telcos.

Stocks have limits regardless if they have plenty. Hence good inventory control can really prevent loses and help planning stock ordering.

How to prevent customer from going other telcos by selling limited stock a day?
People get annoy if they keep listening there is stock but when go center then don't have stock. It gets worst after a few attempts.

Each outlet given for eg, 50 units hence guarantee there will be 50 customers from each day.

Like i say, u cant satisfy all coz u dont have that much supply to meet that demand.

If your stock control is bad, 1st day already all sold out the stock. Totally no stock, hence you cant even achieve the 50 customer per day. it will be 0 customer per day.

Those that didnt get to buy 50 50 chances that they will come back or go another telco. Hence still got chance, but if u totally sold out u totally lost that 50% chance.

Say they have 10K units now
Scenario 1 - No stock control scenario
- They sell all out in 3 days, they get 10K customers within 3 days.
- 4th day all people know maxis out of stock, they think of their on way to get the phone
Scenario 2 - Stock control scenario
- They sell 10 unit per day, they get 10 customers per day. They need 100 days to get the 10K customer.
- Within these 100 days, some customer might fed up and buy out right or get from other telco (if other telco have stock)
- day 1 to day 100 customer complain why some people can buy it while they can't
- day 101th all people know maxis out of stock, they think of their on way to get the phone

I don't see scenario 2 make any good. Maybe we need a marketing guy to further explain.

Scenario 1, there are 3 days for them to restock the phone from Apple.
Scenario 2, there are 100 days for them to restock the phone from Apple.

With scenario 2, they can maintain the flow of stocks.

So the wise method is to control the stock such that new order arrive from Apple every 100 days...this will maintain a steady flow of stocks.

10units is too little. Outlets like Klcc have allocation roughly to 50 to 100 units per day.

Dont forget there are 5 major outlets aka maxis center. There are plenty of MEPs which also get a lil share of the allocation.

So per day they might be doing atleast 1000 units. Hence spare it over 5days = 5k units.

Wait for shipment roughly 4days. Hence a good control by the time u sold 5ks, your inventory has already been replenished.

Those that cant get the stock will just have to come back tomorrow. If they really keen they will wait.

I am one of the buyer that didnt went digi. I hunted the unit for 3days straight

So meaning they will have constant stock everyday..right? they can order new stock while having existing stock to be distributed everyday..so the rolling of stock can be manage control and plan..ok now i get the idea..

Yea that is theoretically but reality nobody knows lol.. It seems that way la. Besides that u roughly know what's the stock intake so u wont order too much prevent stock piling and cash flows

So far everyday got stocks coming in just whether ur lucky to be the few to buy b4 sold out for the day.

i asked the guy who's doing the registration for me....he said they get about 50-60 units per day, various models/colours....restock twice per day, once in the morning, once more in the afternoon....dunno y, but for me, i have better luck at Gardens Maxis.....coz 2 weeks ago i was there, i was offered 32GB black, last unit for the day....was around 5pm that time on Thursday....but i didn't take it coz i wanted 16GB only....

today got 16GB stock, straight put down my name on the form....got a call to collect around 8pm....done in 15 minutes.... smile.gif
