Each outlet given for eg, 50 units hence guarantee there will be 50 customers from each day.
Like i say, u cant satisfy all coz u dont have that much supply to meet that demand.
If your stock control is bad, 1st day already all sold out the stock. Totally no stock, hence you cant even achieve the 50 customer per day. it will be 0 customer per day.
Those that didnt get to buy 50 50 chances that they will come back or go another telco. Hence still got chance, but if u totally sold out u totally lost that 50% chance.
Say they have 10K units now
Scenario 1 - No stock control scenario
- They sell all out in 3 days, they get 10K customers within 3 days.
- 4th day all people know maxis out of stock, they think of their on way to get the phone
Scenario 2 - Stock control scenario
- They sell 10 unit per day, they get 10 customers per day. They need 100 days to get the 10K customer.
- Within these 100 days, some customer might fed up and buy out right or get from other telco (if other telco have stock)
- day 1 to day 100 customer complain why some people can buy it while they can't
- day 101th all people know maxis out of stock, they think of their on way to get the phone
I don't see scenario 2 make any good. Maybe we need a marketing guy to further explain.
