unlimited data plan are offered by all the telcos. celcom, digi and umobile will throttle down speed, while maxis will charge for extra usage. jz a simply google search u can get all the rates and comparisons. geez.

sad.gif sorry abang, we are greedy people. Our definition of unlimited data plan clearly differs.

We do not want throttling.

is there an unlimited data plan?

I'm serious. I want one so badly.

U actually dont need unlimited. 1GB package should be more then enough.
I was on the 5GB plan earlier. Then I realize I am on WiFi (unifi 20mbps) when I am at home. Its way faster then using telco internet connection.

I turn on my data when I am out. Quite heavy usage also myself (Whatsapp, viber, YM, Skype, MSN, GTalk, BBC news, YouTube, and LYN browsing-PMing, Push mail activated - GMAIL 24 hrs a day.)

I still cant reach the 1GB quota. I also tether sometimes for light surfing and youtube where there is no wifi connection for my netbook/galaxy tab.

So my advise is get the 1GB (RM48 plan) if not enough then you can upgrade as there is no contract.

Let me enlighten, I am on DiGi Postpaid. I am not tied down with any phone contract. So I have the benefit of jumping packages/terminating my data package whenever I want.

DiGi Data Plans - No contract/device bundle

Edit :

I have also include Maxis/Celcom/UMobile data plans. To me their plans are the most ridiculous. Its extremely overpriced.

Maxis Data Plans - Postpaid, no device bundle

Celcom plans are more or less like DiGi.

Celcom Data Plans - Postpaid, no device bundle

UMobile plans are also interesting and reasonable. Issue is their customer service is never reachable. No emails are replied. No twitter complains will be entertained. So its basically a telco to choose if you are not a very serious business user. Internet is super fast at certain location. DR - Domestic Roaming capability, which means you can jump onto Celcom coverage where there is poor coverage of signal. Other then that nothing much.

UMobile Data Plans - Postpaid, no device bundle

Hope this sheds some light on those who are planning to get a data package bundled with their postpaid lines. I would definitely encourage a data plan with a smartphone. Without a data plan a smartphone is not very smart.

Thanks.

There's a reason why I want unlimited. The place I live in (Dengkil) has horrible TM service. We don't have Unifi here nor anything higher than 1mbps.

The cable is frequently stolen and down time often exceeds 3 days. In fact, the line was just down for the past 7 days. I have to use YES 4G as a temporary backup line. A stable unlimited wireless line would make my life so much easier.

Dengkil is an excellent place to live in. I want to live here forever but the TM service here is horribad.

It's recently covered. Quite well in fact. I just wished they did not have bandwidth cap. I'd be f***ing happy with an unlimited 1mbps line.

Buy a UMobile prepaid starter pack and try it out at yr place. You will be surprised with the speed if your are has full HSPA+ coverage.

doh.gif 1GB is more than enough for normal usage. 3GB is enough for heavy usage. Like that you prefer to suffer because of your own greediness....if you want to be greedy, be like me...subscribe to Streamyx 4MB and download 24/7 at 30GB/day(avg >10GB per day if download queue is moderately full).
I've download until i find it very hard to find something worthy to download....

What are u going to do on a mobile...download HD movies??? doh.gif

Each individual data needs are different. One cannot tell another how much is sufficient. If you are always in WiFi areas the need is much lesser. As for me I sign up the 3 GB - I used average 2- 2.5+ GB monthly as most areas I go to does not have free wifi

apa lu talk cock. Sini tarak 4MB la. Read before you fire. EDIT: Protip: read post 1923

I don't need insane speeds. I just need 1mbps with unlimited bandwidth. I'd find it very hard to explain my usage to you. Apparently you lack empathy and only think in your own shoes.

EDIT2: Some people can't read. So it's best for me to clarify it here. I also need the line for backup purposes. The line will be used back home on my desktop computer. If possible, I'd like to replace my streamyx line entirely.

I'm a firm believer of cloud computing. I stream most of my music on youtube. I have not downloaded any music for the past few years. I sometimes play with OSes. I download large files quite regularly. I also read a lot of manga. I read a lot as in I'm capable of finishing 80 volumes in 3 days. (I read very fast)

one thing u shud understand is the clear diff infrastructure used by streamyx and other mobile data service. as mobile data service is using the telco tower to communicate, in areas with crowded ppl ur speed will suffer. the reason they cap the speed is to have fair usage among all. this is a world that we have to compromise and tolerate with others. if u dunwan throttling speed, go get celcom corporate data plan instead. FYI even unifi will implement the FUP in coming months.

They don't have to offer 15mbps for each person you know. (e.g. Yes4G) I'm not looking for high speed internet.

Ok, here's the screen shot i took just now. Just to ends all the rumours once and for all.

[attachmentid=2588660]

See? 5476. This is my i9100G!

This is the website comparing G and Non-G

http://10division.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-gt...u-need-to-know/

i9100G (LEFT) vs i9100 non-G (RIGHT)
user posted image
The test above, G scores 4984 (shows 1008Mhz), non-G scores 5662. My G scores 5476 and shows 1200Mhz.

thumbup.gif

What did i do?? Simple...DISABLE THE AUTO POWER SAVING(usually set to on when battery falls below 50%)!!! If you want power, cannot save juice, simple as that! If power-saving is on, it'll revert to 1008Mhz....smile.gif

So your choice...save juice or power!!!

Could it be that the old picture shown for non-g is 5k due to because of old version of AnTuTu?

I just tested mine :

Or probably due to my custom rom(HyperDroid)? hmm.gif

The only way is to use maxis.

They won't throttle once exceeded, BUT will be charged up to RM250(MAX).

I exceeded three times this year(average 2-2.5GB per month)... tongue.gif
