so i've noticed that .523 os got no 'blackberry device analyzer' like before.
add 'application resource monitor'
add 'media server'
anything else?
*
Media server feature was already available in .402, if I remember correctly. As for device analyzer, please goto options-device-advanced then type BBDA, the device analyzer app will appear.

I am a reasonably heavy push mail user (3 accounts) with some light activity on fb/twitter/gtalk/msn/whatsapp and my 9790 can last me the whole day (7am to 11pm) with 3g enabled and about 15mins of calls and 5-10 smses per day. What is your phone's os version and do share your actual daily usage pattern?

if your phone is signal hunting all the time, (you can install an app that monitors your signal strength, if it jumps or roams, or hangs on to one, etc)

my friend's 9790 was compounded by Maxis' signal in Terrengganu. Once he switched the signal to manual, since it only locks on that 1 preferred signal, it was much better (although when he moved to another location it was even better)

makes sense why RIM bought a RF-Tuning company for 100M the other day.

ok about my usage,so i have 3email accounts which email comes in daily altogether around 10-40 emails per day, light use of fb,a couple or several tweets (or sometimes a lot),minor use of bbm,and usually a couple to several call/sms per day.
i even put vibrate when there's calls/sms coming in. other notifications,i only put the ringer/sound and no vibrate (to save battery usage).
all in all,i still need to charge the phone at least/minimum of 3times..max is 5/6times.

oh btw,im using stock OS which is 7.0 Bundle 2356 (v7.0.0.557, Platform 9.16.0.67)

please please help me find a way, thank you all!

Update your OS. I am running 7.1 Bundle 1648 (v7.1.0.523), with battery saving mode always enabled (new feature in 7.1).

My usage is not very different than yours, I don't BBM (no BB friends) but I whatsapp quite a bit and perhaps I receive a bit more email than you do, per day. My phone is almost always set to the loudest ringtone/notification setting with vibrate enabled. I only set to vibrate only when in the cinema or in a meeting.

I have a powerbank also, just in case. But usually my 9790 has enough juice to keep me connected and online from 7+ am to 11pm on 3G - I only use 2G when I am outside for longer than an hour (e.g meeting a customer or out hiking). I am guessing our usages are very different.
